Any cheaper alternatives than an Aster Bracket?
To make a long story short. I have a D1SC with an 8 rib set up thats still getting belt slip around 6100 rpms. Im running about 9lbs of boost with the 7.65 crank pulley and 4.13 blower pulley. Is there any alternative to the aster bracket bc I honestly dont want to spend that much money "if" there is a cheaper way. Also i plan to upgrade to a f1 in a couple years and probably go cog if thats possible. Has anyone seen a cog set up on a D1? Thanks for any input guys!

If you purchase an Aster Bracket now, you'll have no problem selling it when the time comes considering they rarely come up for sale used.
Also, you can't use a cog drive on a D1SC.

The difference in price between Aster's bracket, and an SDCE bracket isn't that much, and I'd rather run a larger crank pulley than a smaller one. If Aster's bracket is too much, then save for an extra month or so and get it. I firmly believe in doing it right once, the first time. Pay me now, or pay me later.

unless you fabricate, and have time and money to put into one, then no.
If you switch to the SDCE then as mentioned you have to buy a new damper and that will be expensive as well if you cant sell yours or get alot of money out of it.
I almost bought a cog bracket the other day, but i sent it back. TO really make that work your going to need a PERFECT belt alignment by Jesus Christ himself, and run the new ATI Super Pulley and that things 500 dollars plus shipping, and the belts are 30 for cheapos but usually 100 and they snap off all that time for a lot of people. I have researched this to the ends of the earth, and the aster, although an expensive piece, is the last piece youll even maxing out an f1 blower. Also a cog setup took up a **** ton of room. The guy who had it before me said he could not fit the air filter on and there is no way I was about to suck in dirt and whatever else into my new forged motor.
Order it now, so he can be making it. They are usually made to order.

if you do an Aster from the get go when you switch over to the F1 there will be no need to go with a cog set up. but if you insist than like stated above, it'll be very easy to sell it on here.

From the research I did a few years ago when I was putting my kit together, Aster's setup uses a lot more belt wrap around the head unit pulley, as well as the crank pulley. More belt wrap equals less chance of slippage. Also, I liked the fact that I didn't need a special tool to get the belt on or off, and Aster's bracket was a fresh design and not a modified bracket. He utilizes every bolt hole on the blower as well and I beleive the bracket itself is thicker, which elimintes, or drastically reduces the chance of bracket deflection.
All of these things led me to go for his setup. By the time you buy a factory j-bracket, then send it to SDCE to have it modified, cost wise, it's nearly a wash.
I actually liked the fact that I upgraded the water pump since the ls2 water pump flows better than the ls1 it replaces.

Im went turbo now, but before I was procharged and I paid the money for the aster bracket. Its deff worth it. If you have any problems aster is right there to help you out. the piece is very well built and though out. He did his home work with this thing. I was thinking the same thing before I ordered it. (man this thing is expensive) but once I got it deff worth the money. Also do your self a favor! Just get the ls2 water pump from Him. I brought one cheap and tried pressing the pulley out myself, well ended up bending the **** out of the pulley. Called aster and just got it from him Anyway. Like said above just buy it and don't look back !! Good luck
