Looking for suggestions for mounting a Procharger
I have been back and forth between a turbo and a supercharger for my 1972 240. With a turbo comes the issue of running a down pipe and with the supercharger comes the problem of mounting. The picture I am posting was the solution a good friend of mine did with his 240 while running the Corvette set up with a D1sc. I would like to get away with not cutting the strut tower, is there a way to retain the f body alt mounting location while using the Corvette head unit method?

Take a look at the Cartec Flip Drive, as this may work out well for you. http://www.cartekracing.com/Products...EFlipDrive.htm Bob

Surely it would be easier just to move the alternator on that photo ?
Or the 2010 Camaro places the alternator down low and with the same belt position as the Vette stuff.

I think it would have clearance issues if mounted higher with the hood. Ill look into the 2010 Camaro set up.
This is my current set up at the moment.

That looks like an early accessory setup ? with the belt in the outer position ? Vette runs 1" closer to the engine.
So the Vette blower kits still wouldnt be a straight fit. Although it's just a front pulley, tensioner and alternator change.
You just need to find an alternator bracket that sits 1" further back, which I'm pretty sure the LS3/2010 etc stuff does. Some of the 2006+ GTO stuff may well be usable too, but not sure on that one
Maybe ask in the conversions section too ?
Google finds this pic on tech, not mine

Just search google images for LS3 etc and loads of variations appear.

TBH, if doing this, it's also worth going for an LS2 water pump and getting rid of the LS1 with that huge bell pulley.

At the minute, your crank pulley will not line up with Vette accesssories or the Vette blower kit. So you'd need to replace that too, although that's maybe part of the kit.
