Default My Trip to Atlanta Drag way for the CHP and LSX Challenge True Street Win

Well after wanting to attend one of the LSX races for the last couple years I was finally able to make the Trip to the Chevy High performance Nationals at Atlanta Drag way. It was a 1275 mile round trip from my house in Pa to Commerce Ga.

We made the trip down Thursday and got into the track Friday AM. Friday was a testing session and I got 4 passes in. The track conditions were not that great. Starting line prep was crappy. I managed a best of 9.39 @ 149.

Saturday we got into the track early and I was able to make 1 hit before the True street Drive. I did manage to run a 9.10@153

Then it came time for the true Street 30 mile drive followed by the 3 back to back passes.

We ended up with about an hour of cool down time after the cruise before making out passes. All 3 passes were made within 30 min and they had us come back down the road in front of the grand stands. I made my 3 passes with a 9.4 average. I had a .4 average over the next closest racer. My 3 passes are as follows

1st 9.220@153 1.565 60'
2nd 9.521@153 1.803 60' Spun
3rd 9.559@152 1.813 60' Spun again

The track was hard to get down all weekend. The closest person to me went a 9.288 on his first pass but spun bad his second 2 passes and went 10.0 and 10.2 making his average 9.8.

My Wally

Over all I had a great Trip and look forward to being able to make it to another LSX race

Badass Dan. Glad the car is working for you and you won. I like the picture with the cars making the cruise and the parachutes hanging off the back.

Thanks guys yeah making the cruise with the cars with chutes was funny. The caravan definitely got some looks. It was also funny that the Sherriff leading the cruise was doing 10-15 over the entire time.

I'd say, that's well worth the 1,275 mile round trip, and making it there has to be a real blast. Nice car and congrats!

Not sure what the problem was if it was the heat or what but all outlaw drag radial guys where having problems getting down the track all weekend also. I heard from several people that they made a clean hit first thing in the AM and then couldn't after that

Congrats man! Unfortunately that track almost never works. I've been on a bunch of tracks and it's the worst I've ever been to, and it's my home track!

Awesome job! Especially considering how shitty the track was..

That's pretty sorry that for a major event like that and the track/management could not get it prepped... Why even host big events if they're not gonna take care of the patrons?...

Either way, a win is a win! Would have been cool seeing you win the event with some 8 sec slips your ride normally produces.. A REAL street car at that..

Thanks, Yeah when I am used to thinking Cecil doesn't prep that great (compared to MIR) and I have to dial it back for Cecil And I go to a big place like that for a big event and I have to pull it back even further is just crazy

I am gonna try and see if I can't make things come together in order to make it to LS Fest
