hahaha it does seem like its taking a while, the trans held me up, then a few other things, on top of buying this house and doing the garage doors etc etc, lol

what gasket did you use for your oil feed from the oil pan?

You sure they were factory 3.73 gears in that 80 Z28 and not 3.42s?

1980 Z28 was only available with 2.56, 3.08 (in the 305 Z28), and 3.42 gears (in the 350 Z28).

You might want to check your axle codes...
Rear Axle Codes
PA 2.73:1 PT 2.56:1 Locking
PC 3.08:1 PU 2.73:1 Locking
PE 3.42:1 PW 3.08:1 Locking
PH 2.56:1 PY 3.42:1 Locking

2002 trans am ws6 stock gasket from parts store, asked mott the same question a month ago lol.

It originally came with the 3.42. Someone changed it to 3.73.
Good to know i can use those truck gears if i decide.

What do you do with your idle air control valve? Do you gut it and plug it or just leave it alone?
