this throttle already has the IAC filled, so i wont be using it right away, the MS3 can do closed loop idle control through, ill probably get another throttle body and wire it up for control then, just for fun

usually trucking places, i used to goto a place off 248 but its too far, i hear associated trucking does a nice job, going to use them on this project

Sweet!

Will that be a version of MegaShift running within the MS3 Gold Box, or an additional controller box with a GPIO or MS2 in it running MegaShift and talking to the MS3 via CAN?

I hope it's internal to the MS3 Gold Box, that will be 100% BADASS! Either way though, it's great that you're going to try some MegaShift code. If that is goofy in any way, James Murray has a version of trans controller code for the 4L80e that some of the guys on this forum have been running. You probably know that already... Haha

Awesome! I've been hoping that you would build a G-body! I just fired up my turbo G-body today as well. It just took me 30 weeks instead of 3 weeks. Lol

Im not an expert....but cant you go on www.turbobuick.com and ask if someone has GN axels to go with the 3;42 diff you just bought at the junk yard.
GN guys are always upgrading to beefier ****,but the GN rear is proven
Dennis

or swap the ring gear ,use the same axels ,grind the bolts down a bit so they dont hit the slave

Matt. I just measured the width of my 80 Z28 8.5 inch 10 bolt. With the drums on, outside of drum to outside of drum was 61.5 inches. If the drums on the GNs are different or wider then yours would obviously be a bit off that measurement. IIRC, the backing plate to backing plate was 57.5 inches. I may have to recheck the second measurement. My neighbour and i were measureing for a 40 Ford. I wrote the numbers down but gave them to my neighbour.
Hope that helps.

haha awesome, she should be fun for sure.

today i picked up a lincoln mark 7 disk brake 8.8 rear with posi and 3.27 gears, pulled an explorer hub and ujoint flange (since they are larger) so that will all be ready to go in.

i also had the car running for 40 min about last night, and let it get to 210, and just ran this fan on the low speed, not even high speed and it cooled it down to 180f (stock tstat with 2 tiny holes in it.

so i am pretty happy with that, how it stays cool easily, i am sure the high speed will really take some temp out of it if i ever need it.

Can you give some info on a 8.8 swap into a 2gen Fbody? What parts are you taking from a Ford Explorer to make them work in a GM. Got any links?

Not personally no, you can cut the Ford brackets off and weld on GM ones, and I believe Strange makes axles to fit the 8.8" but with all GM correct patterns.

There's a company call base line suspension. They make a nice kit to put a 8.8 into a g body
