Refer to my quote... not everyone cares about keeping ourselves pristine until death. It's my example because I've lived it, you don't need to preach to me. Your probably gonna tell me drinking whisky like water is bad too. Everyone goes out when their number is called no matter what condition you keep yourself in, may as well live to the extreme and have fun until then, otherwise you are wasting your time being boring. Semi truck could crash into you, plane could crash, coronavirus could eat your lungs, dog could bite your neck, nuclear war could break out, we don't control our own destiny so no need to worry about it.

Your idiotic mentality and willful ignorance makes you a burden on society. Thanks for solidifying the point. Sure you can point a dump somewhere it might not be a problem, but is it worth the risk? You've already indicated what it was like when you planned so poorly it forced your hand. The general social acceptance of fender and bumper dumps (outside of a race car maybe) is utterly pathetic. There is a big difference between being completely risk adverse and managing measured risk - one is driven by fear and the other by education.

As mentioned, the cumulative effects over time are a huge issue... just a little a day. A little too loud, a little too smelly, a little too dead.

Spoken like a true Canadian snowflake! Somehow in your mind being a successful adult that has plenty of extra funds to have multiple cars to simply have fun with makes me a burden on society. Sounds like something a socialist would say... bring yourself down to the lowest common denominator, give up your excess so others can live better.

Why are you so simple that you care so much about what others do with their exhaust? I could care less if you suck start a 45, why do you care where I route my exhaust? I don't care if society accepts it or not, its my decision to do what I want, that's why I live in this great country as we can make our own decisions. Apparently you can't handle that and rather go off on a tirade of name calling. Personally I'd rather be dead then have to live life with your pessimistic outlook that some sound or smoke is going to kill you.

Go run you jaw to the guys that dig ditches and plow fields all day with tractors and bulldozers with front exit exhausts belching black smoke, I'm sure they will love your viewpoint that they are idiots and being a burden on society while doing their job supporting their family.

um... let's keep it to car tech stuff people. Regardless of personal preference, we are trying to answer a question of people who have fender exits and the fumes associated with it. And to say ots bad for people and fumes, Diesel engines dump the exhaust half the time right out by where people's faces are on larger trucks that have way more carcinogens than a car will that's occasionally driven with fender exits so let's move the thread along before a MOD locks it done.

how is a bumper exit any different than sitting at a red light 4 feet from the tail pipe of the guy in front of you?

Since both Doug and I live in Oregon, and burn E85 in our hotrods, I figure we are environmentalists.

DOT does not directly review and approve tires. The federal guidelines are that tires must be of a proper material and construction with a minimum tread depth of 4/32" in the deepest part of the tread groove (not stone ejector cuts) and 2/32" in any other groove to be on the road under the tread depth guidelines stated in CFR 393.75. Forty-three states require motorists to get new tires when the tread wears down to a 2/32".

So, "acceptable DRs" are good until the police can't see 2/32" on the traffic stop test. The old check to see if you can see all of Lincoln's head on a penny test. You're mileage and burnouts may vary.

I tried honestly. I have a 2004 5.3 Silverado with 150k I took as a trade on some fab labor and I was going to put a turbo on it and do mild transmission build, run it at about 5psi and give it to my nephew next year when he can drive and his mom threatened to castrate me I went through with it lol.
