depends completely on your goal trap speed, your tire diameter, and your max rpm (if you want to do it right)

for my 27" tires, 6500rev limit, and 150mph trap speed goal i had to go back from 3.73's to 3.42's.

look for a gear/tire calculator on the web.

well not sure of the trap speed yet because i have not really even had it to the track ecept the one night that blew the rear,i guess the only thing would be how much better would a 3.73 be for my launch/60 ft times compared to the 3.42s

3.73's will be very marginal over 3.42's in the 60'. IMHO....NOT worth it. 3.42's are stronger as well. I'd keep the stock ratio, it'd yield higher mpg, and trap speeds.

I went with 3.73's, but I only upgraded because I couldn't see not getting some kind of a gear upgrade when I bought my 12 bolt. My car is more of a daily driver as well.

Go here:
http://www.1bad69.com/calc.htm
Enter in all your info under MPH calculator. That will tell you what gears to go with.
Also, remember, too much gear for an FI car is not optimal, even if you have enough RPM. Blowers/turbos like long gears. Let that boost get up in there.

i disagree with crunch traction providing.

you always want the most gear you can sustain through the 1/4 without shifting out of 4th (stick) or third (auto)
long as it hooks you will be putting more tq to the ground

true. But the reason I say that based on my experience, I won more street races with longer gears once I had the blower installed. When I was all motor, the 4.11s were great, but with the blower, you spin up the RPMs so darn quick, as soon as you step on the gas, its time to shift.
I was actually faster with longer gears. I know it sounds funny.
