Default first time FI user. procharger on an L92

First of all I have a Chevelle that weighs 3750 and runs 10.60s @ 126 mph right now. The motor has hand ported l92s that flow 37x cfm on the intake side. My cam is high 230s intake mid 240s exhaust duration on a 110 LSA. the bottom end is stock with ARP rod bolts and fly cut pistons. It is carbureted.

When I get the money together I plan on turning in into a 9:1 416, with a goal of an even more streetable car that runs at least 9.50. but for now I was thinking of getting a pro charger and running it as is. Ideally I would get a cam a pinch smaller and a wider lobe separation but that is a waste of money since I would get a different cam for the 416.

I was wondering first should I get a D1SC or F1 kit? I want it to be pump gas, I will run an intercooler.
I wanted to know if I could get away with 6-8 psi as it is right now. The compression is a calculated 10.7:1 right now. I have head studs as is. Is the 8 rib setup good enough for my purposes?

What kit and parts do I buy? I saw an lsx transplant kit but im looking for more guidance on part selection. Newbie here when it comes to forced induction and blow thru setups. Is this even doable?

I guess my goal with the 6-8psi would be 800hp. So I guess 650rwhp through an automatic. What do you think?

Get an lsx transplant kit with an f series blower. Don't waist your time with a d1sc since you car is already so fast. The stuff you need is currently for sale in the classifieds right now. Search lsx transplant.

I agree, I would go with an F-1A Transplant Kit. You can install a 5.25 pulley on the head unit for now to slow it down to keep the stock bottom end alive. Send me an e-mail to brutespeed@gmail.com if you want a copy of the installation instructions. Bob

Definitely a F1 kit. Why so low of a compression ratio? Somewhere in the 9.8-10.2 range is good.

OK so F1A. Can you point me to which classifieds thread you are talking about?

Is it reverse or standard rotation?

9:1 compression to be safe on pump gas. I dont want to have to run method I injection either.

Am I OK to run it with low boost even with stock fly cut pistons? How much like 4-6 psi?

Welcome to the darkside...haha. Let me know when you get yours up and running. We'll have to run at Atco. Ended up going Turbo 5.3L in my '84 Cutlass. I bought the LY6 from you a few years back.

As soon as I saw the name I recognized it. Yeah I remember. Sounds good, it might be a while before I do this though. I really need my hand held with this, let alone the money its going to cost. I will probably build and throw the lower compression 416 in so I can still drive it until I can piece together an F1A setup.

Does anyone know if I can buy just the brackets and stuff from somewhere? I definitely want to buy the head unit and intercooler used.

I have a truck accessory setup with the alternator on the drivers side. Counter clockwise rotation?

I think if you want to make 800 at the wheels through an auto you will need a F1C or F1R especially if you're going with a 416 at that low of a compression.

is a two core procharger brand intercooler enough? I see one in the classifieds section.

i'm leaning towards the D1SC because it's quiet and I see people making plenty of power on pump gas on this site and elsewhere. Again, i'm really just looking for 9.50 or so. that should be 250ish hp over what I have right now.

I run a D1SC with success. Have the standard gears in it and it runs 10.20's via a manual.

What is your setup? Mph?

If it's in that corvette its gonna be a little hard to compare to my Chevelle.
