My twin 66/408 Straightline/Turbo Joe build/PROJECT UPDATE AND WARNING
I,ve never done this kind of thing before so be gentle. I recently took my YSI supercharged WS6 to Straightline for a little bit of work and a tune, after walking around the place and seeing all the badass turbo builds and talking to Turbo Joe I figured it was time for a new kind of boost. here,s a couple of pics from before with the YSI and some of the stuff Turbo Joe has fabbed up for me.(this guy can weld) I,m going to miss the YSI but I,m pretty excited to see this come together.
After about 14 months my car finally went on the dyno And as soon as it 5000rpm it proceeded to self destruct, so out came the motor again and sent to PER race engines where it was discovered to have had the cam installed 1 tooth off and pretty much wiped out the block the heads and of course a couple of the pistons, So now we're going with a Darton sleeved LS3 blocked 416 with AFR 245 heads. And now the warning, I bought this motor from a guy on this sight guaranteed to be in perfect working order, well it definitely wasn't, it only had idle time prior to being put on the dyno. Not only that, almost none of the parts he claimed that was in the motor are. So all in all I was able to use the Callies Comstar crank(not the dragonslayer) that was claimed and the Howards rods ( not the Callies H beam rods that was claimed) Now after that long I'm not asking asking for anything(because I know I,m not going to get it) All I want to say is that if you buy a motor, trans or anything on here or any where don't be a dumbass like I was, get a build sheet and VERIFY,VERIFY, VERIFY. Anyway my new motor is done and the car should be ready to rock very soon.
