About to grab this
https://ls1tech.com/forums/parts-cla...e-reduced.html

This would be going on my 02 ss A4 with Longtubes. No nitrous. My goals are 500whp with my car as it sits now + this kit.

Does anyone see any issues with this setup? Anything I need to know?

67mm turbo so it will hit around 3,000rpms. On a auto car this kit will be hella fun just holding that gas down ;-)

That is a small turbo for our cars. Lots ls based cars run 66's as twins.

On a stock LS1 its fine and good up to 600whp. A stock LS1 is only good for 550whp as the rods are a weak link. So a 67mm is good enough for now and if he ever builds a stout bottom end he could upgrade the turbo and go to like a 76mm.

And my buddy has twin 66's but on a built 6.0L and does 1000whp and did 199mph in the 1/2 mile Shift-S3ctor event in April. Again I stress!!!!! It was built reason why it would take twin 66's. IMO anything bigger then to much lag and no fun on a stock motor :-(

If it really is a 67mm turbo you'll want a bigger one for sure. You can get a tc78 for like 750 from vendors on here. Personally I was going to do a rear mount setup but I just decided to go front mount. It is a little more expensive but I feel its better. But it seems like a decent deal.

If I had the money I would grab it. Thats a deal for a complete kit IMO. I've seen them go for sale at over $3k...

Shouldn't be hard to hit your 500whp goal that you want. With a good tune you should have a fun ride. You can always upgrade the turbo down the road and up the boost

Right on, I'm sure you'll be happy going with boost.

Hopefully someday I'll be there

The dozens of 700+ whp LS1s that have been running for thousands of miles must have had the rods blessed by a magician when leaving the factory.

Isn't there a few stock longblock LS1s pushing 800 whp? The weak point is more often the tune than the hardware.
