Watergate help

I have a tial sport 38mm wastegate for my 5.3 build I have a gt45 turbo is the big enough wastegate ?

It will work but may cause boost fluctuatuion. A 50mm would be better, that is what i run with my gt45..

^ What he said, really the biggest you can fit will be best and allow you to control boost better down low.

Watergate is over by the way oh and Nixion resigned...LOL

Wastegate placement is almost as important as the size.....

I run an ebay EMUSA 38mm tial knock off on my 4.8 with GT45 turbo. Boost does not fluxuate even down to 3-4 psi it works great. Is it ideal? Hell if I know but it works, just run it dude!

Yeah that's where my wastegate runs off, the flange where they join. I run a turbosmart 50mm progate, no surge or creep from that baby!

Buddy of mine ran a 38mm gate with an ebay GT45 at around 7 PSI and it worked fine. Not to say this will be the outcome on all setups, but if you place it correctly, it should work ok. I went with a 50mm on mine for peace of mind.

I'm going to try it for now but I do want to turn it up to 15-18 pounds my goal is 650-750 rear wheel hp

You will be fine, I have run a Tial sport 38mm on a 6.0 with S480 down to 7psi with no boost spikes/deviations. As stated above placement is just as important as size.

That's important too but, I mean have the wastegate plumbed with the direction of exhaust flow. Having it at a 90* angle to flow will not work as well as one placed at 45*.
