Lightbulb Supercharger Quetions

I dont have TA yet but I hope to buy one in the near future and I have some quetions about superchargers. First do you have to do anything to the internals if you have a SC and NOS? And how hard is it to put the SC in the car? Is it possible to do it by yourself or with a few friends? This is all i have for now Thank You.

You gotta be a little more specific than basically "Tell me EVERYTHING there is to know about forced induction." You can't expect someone to do that. There have been books upon books written on the subject....perhaps you should read a few of them.

Get familiar with the search button and then ask some questions once you know enough to ask questions.

if you don't have the time to do the proper research you shouldn't be throwing on a major power adder like a supercharger.

They have been a better help so far than you guys have. And i shouldn't put in a SC well i dont even have a TA yet look at my name and you would know that. I'm just trying to get some help before i buy it so i know how much money i would be looking at spending before i buy one.

You cant expect them to help you if you arent willing to help yourself.

There is literally YEARS of knowledge at your finger tips via the search button. If you do not take advantage of that you are a fool.

You ARE at the right website, the information is RIGHT HERE! Again, try using the search button. I'm seriously NOT trying to be an ***. I'm a nice guy as are most of the people here but you're not using the resources available to you and you're not listening to what's been said so far. I gave you some good advice when I told you to get familiar with the search button. Here it is... https://ls1tech.com/forums/search.php?

Welcome to LS1Tech. We're here to help but we expect you to be willing to help yourself too. Fair enough?

you can run 6-8 psi p1sc pretty safely on stock lower end. Also it takes about 1-2 days to install if your pretty good. It can be done by yourself. As far as adding nos, you might want to look into a forged low compression motor. All depends really how much hp your looking for. If your going to do a d1 and nos then ya be prepared to buy a forged block with low compression, HD driveshaft, 12 bolt or stronger. High HP clutch assembly. ETC ETC ETC. Expect to spend 15-20k easily. Does this help?

Thank You that helps a lot. What kind of horsepower would i have with 6-8 psi? Also how about turbochargers would i be looking at the same horsepower gain as the SC? Thank you again. I'm sorry to everyone else because i'm new to this website so i dont have everything mastered like all of you do.

turbo is a whole new ball game and I dont recommend it unless your seriously skilled like a few members here. A p1 at 6-8 on a bone stock motor can get average 450 rwhp.

Default What its Worth

You're definitely at the right website for anything related to LS1's. I've been reading this site FOREVER(well a year isn't forever, but it makes for lots of reading) and i'm still learnin. Go to the New LS1 Enthusiasts forum, read that for about a month, get a good grip on the basics of the motor design and flaws, then start perusing the more specialized boards. READING is the best way to learn. Read posts you don't even think pertain to you....b/c very likely someday it will. And yes...the search button is your best friend. The search button is the only option on the Navigation bar up top that is spelled S-E-A-R-C-H. search and ye shall receive!!

5 litre eater gave you some solid info. You should also consider that you flamed(or made a poor attempt of doing so) some of the more/most knowledgable/respected members of this site. Everyone here is here cuz they love these cars, as I suspect you do. Follow their advice young paduwon, as you have much to learn.
