Default CO2 in my intercooler?

someone recommended that I spray CO2 in the intercooler to cool it down. He said the risk would be that it would lean out my car. Is that a risk while spraying in the intercooler and what other risks are involved doing this? Also, is it as risky as NO2?

Are you sure he didn't say "on" your intercoolers? Decompressing a harmless gas like CO2 is a good way to ice your intercooler down. I mean from an effciency standpoint you'd reduce temps more by decompressing the gas inside the pressurized intake piping. But like you said you'd have to deal with the effects the gas would have on your AFR. If you wanted to do that, a small shot of N2O would probably be more advisable(with the right engine setup). It would lower temps and add hp. But CO2 on the intercoolers would also work, much like icing down an air to water IC.

In the thought of CO2 is cheaper and if you ever had an inter cooler problem it wouldnt lean you out like nitrous. But also an extensive amount of either gas on
an extreamly hot intercooler might also damage the unit.

NX has a bar set-up that you attach to your IC to cool it down. CO2 is cheap as hell, and you can make the set-up yourself. I think as long as you're spraying the fins and not the end tanks you should be fine as far a temp changes causing issues to the IC

You could spray C02 onto the face of the 'cooler.

I have seen import peepz spray 'cooler faces with N20, C02 is a cheaper alternative.

I doubt it would help sprayign down the track just because the air would disperse the c02 and limit it's effect.

The speed of the air passing by low pressure ares within the core could actually act like a vacume and draw in nitrous or co2 if there is a problem with the core.

I think in his original post he actually meant spraying CO2 INSIDE the intake. So therefore it would throw off your AFR.

there is a company that sells c02 tanks and little "heat sinks" that go in your intakeand/or fuel lines and flow the c02 through the heat sink to cool it off while it dissapates heat, and the end of the line is a little bracket that goes over the intercooler to vent the c02 right onto the cooler.
they arent a sponsor so i cant post the website but i think its ok if i pm it to people who are interested? if not someone just let me know and ill stop.

That Cryo kit looks very cool(no pun intended.... welllll maybe a little one). But it looks like it would work very well with an ATI kit. My only question is if you were indeed spraying the intercoolers. Would CO2 sprayed on the Driver's side intercooler throw off your AFR since your air filter sits right above it?

I think BigPlan's link is very cool!
