Nice job man! Sorry I haven't checked in here.
A lot of work isn't it?
I think I'll quit whining about space issues in the nova.
Your car will be pure stealth.

Yeah, it is a lot of work!! Spent the day installing the meth pump/tank and wiring in the trunk. Wired up a low-level light too. Cant believe a day was burned-up over this. I think I'm going to install a series of LED's to indicate when the meth, 2nd fuel pump, and fan is on. Can't have enough data ya know.

Yes, some - thanks for asking.

Just fighting to get the th400 in. My great neighbor gave me a freshly rebuilt Pontiac th400 AND a ATI Streemaster 10". Converter may not be ideal - BUT ITS FREE LOL!!! It will at least get me moving.

The tunnel clearance is tight with the TH400 b/c the motor mount setup I went with (UPR 4.6 adapter plates) has the motor sitting high, and if you want the tailshaft high enough to keep the angles right -your F'd. I originally used a TransDapt 5/16" thick adapter plate to install the trans, but the tail shaft ran into the factory shifter. I decided to install an UltraBell - the LS version all over 5/16"! That went well, but I'm dealing with the converter not really having enough freeplay at the moment. I'm going to try a 4l80e flex as I need an additional 1/8" converter freeplay. I only have maybe 1/16" and I'm not comfortable with that.

too tight!

OK, went to Autozone and bought Pioneer flywheel FRA-450 which is a 4l80e and bam! Fits like a glove! I didn't even need to enlarge the flexplate bolts - a direct bolt-in. If anybody wants to attach a th350/400 converter to a LS engine this is the plate to use for only $65.00

Did you check and make sure the snout on the converter goes into the hole on the crank?

Was reading a while back and remember seeing you need a spacer of sorts to enable the converter snout to engage into the crank when using th350/400 converter not meant for a lsx and oem 80e plate.

The spacer is there, and it slid into the spacer nicely. This plate was like made for this.

Been working 6 days a week and not finding enough time to play with the car.

Now, my father in law sets a steak on fire in his oven and filled the home w/soot. This is bad b/c it takes away from my time.

Anyway, going to try and install a trans cooler today with Teflon lines. I also just got the Ford Racing 31 spline diff to install in the rear today to try and get a measurement for the axles.

This is the tough part - all the little stuff, but I'm getting close!

Im running a 95 mustang gauge cluster in my Fox with a lq4. I have the ford temp sending unit in the heater hose to make the factory temp gauge work. Same with the oil psi guauge. use the ford sending unit and wire to the cluster. The ford temp and oil psi gauges suck though LOL. Im not sure what it took to get the factory tach work but it does and is dead nutz accurate. As far as the speedo goes you can get a GPS sending unit to control the electronic ford speedo for around $100. Hope that helps. Im about to take everything out of my notch and put it in a sn95. Im hoping to find a roller as clean as yours!!

This is great info b/c I have been struggling with what to do with the gauges. The oil pressure is a dummy light so that's out.

But your saying the factory tach is accurate? I read it was exactly the opposite. How did you get it to work - you had to do something lol! Wired to the lq4 ecu?

Help me with the speedo too! The gps things sounds almost too easy.

The other option is an Autometer dash setup for around ~800.00, but then I lose the turn signal indicator, high beam, brake etc etc.

Yeah your s.o.l. When it comes to foxbody gauges. Specially the speedo since it's cable driven. The option I'm taking is buying the gauge mount plate that let's your run aftermarket tach, speedo ect. The one I was about to buy has the turn signals, oil light, high beam indicators built in to it.

However I think I'm going to run the holly LCD screen. But one thing you can use is that gps speedo unit. I bought the autometer gps speedo drive. It drives almost any speedo that takes a square wave signal. Stupid accurate, and you'll never have to worry about speedo being off due to gear and tire size.
