Default FAST 90 vs LS6 on boosted ls1

I've did alot of wondering over the last year about the best intake for a boosted aplication and if it mattered much as to what intake was on the car power wise for a street build. The car is a 99 SS with a stock bottom Ls1 with cam, full bolt ons ect with a D1 Procharger. It had a FAST 90/90 on it up untill the other week when I swapped it out to a Ls6 intake and stock "ported" TB. The car made 638/538 to the tires with the FAST combo. I just dropped it off yesterday with the tuner to get it dialed in with the new intake. I will post the new numbers as soon as I get word.

Any gueses as to how much power it will lose with the Ls6/stock TB over the FAST? Im guessing it makes 625 now but could lose none. Im curious to see. It is the exact same setup otherwise other than I removed the AC.

Over 600 should be a walk in the park honestly. Everyone I have seen with the same setup is in the 600 range. My setup it:

stock motor with custom grind cam
1 7/8" TSP headers
TSP true duals
ls6 intake (now)
D1
Front mount IC
4.25" blower pully (about 11.5# boost at 6500rpm)
Truck hat with big K&N filter
m6 with 9" out back

That pretty much covers it
The dyno is a Dynojet for what its worth

I sold my old D1 kit to a buddy of mine. Stock bottom, ls1 intake/TB, TSP 1 7/8 headers, chokemasters cat back, brutespeed blower cam, 4.38" pulley, 12psi, 93-no meth. Made 638/530

Same dyno etc ?

It will certainly be interesting results, although would have been great for before/after on same day

I'd say no change, but look forward to the results. It really is one test that nobody seems to have documented !

Your correct in saying nobody has documentaion. Tons of it for NA setups but none for FI. I looked forever and all I could find is a bunch of "shoulds" and people wondering the same thing.

Yes same dyno and same exact setup as before down to the rear wheels/tires, timing and all. Only differance is the removal of AC and of course the Ls6 intake.

Exactly why I changed. I heard under higher boost (when I build my motor and turn the boost up) they can come apart where they are a 2 piece intake. Plus I made $500 with the swap!

My cousin just swapped his broken fast out for a ls6 and ported tb. His took plenty of boost for a little while before having issues. He was also was 18 lbs at 6800 or so.

Im running a t4 comp ct5/43 hybrid. Its a ct5 mid frame with the smaller ct43 compressor cover. About the size of a pt88.

88mm billet comp wheel and 94/88 turbine, triple ball bearing. Spools instant on my 370 and 3600 stall combo.

Ill be close to that when I build a motor as well. Figured it was a smart move to get rid of it now.

Sir, I have done 2 pulls with ur car. It has made 632/535 with the same tune it had and it is out of fuel pump hardcore now after 5800 rpms.

I was just sent this. Sounds like its making more power with the FAST intake. Looks like fuel system time.

The LS6 intake always has been a strong performer with boost.
