Good morning guys.

I spoke with Matt yesterday on the phone about the SDCE bracket.
We talked about several ways to make the 8.65 pulley work with this system.
Matt will be shipping me his setup about the second week in June and I'll put it on the mockup motor here in the shop to come up with a solution.

Would you mind if I PM you some pics with a few things I have been thinking about to make this work as well. I was going to try some things my self this winter but you might be able to use these ideas sooner... I just got everything working and I don't want to take the car apart again, its always torn apart

Good to hear Chris!

I don't know how everyone else's SDCE set up it, but I can't move mine back any to be able to run your 8.65 or even the PC 7.65. Because the bolt that is holding the blower pulley on the head unit is about .100-.125" from hitting my alternator pulley. From my measurements of the factory 7.65 crank pulley compared to the SDCE, it's about .300" of a difference in spacing. Just to give you something to look at when you get the mock up on.

Ok guys so I started playing some more with my SDCE, After I really started looking at it and comparing my SDCE 7.25 crank pulley to the 7.65 procharger pulley I noticed that the SDCE set out about 1/8" farther than the procharger. It just so happens that the SDCE shims are 1/8" each so I removed 1 of the 2 shims around the bracket mounts and reinstalled everything. From the way things look to me everything is lined up perfectly with 1 of the shims removed. I am still tinkering with it of course. Also I have no clearance issues on my alternator as I already had a smaller alternator pulley on my car that came with my alternator...overdrive pulley. So I cannot speak to the clearance issues with that. The one thing that does concern me is the distance between the 7.65 crank and the smooth idler pulley.....because the idler sits down farther to clear the SDCE tensioner I am not sure if we will have the clearance to fit that huge 8.65......Chris, can you give me the measurement between the edge of the J-Bracket and the edge of the 8.65 pulley?

I will keep everyone informed.
Matt

I am also waiting for a LS2 H2O pump to arrive so I can ensure that there is no clearance issues with it either. Just FYI

Good info! I'll have to double check my measurements. Mine was further off than what yours is measuring.

Does the Aster's bracket not run the plastic smooth idler? I know Aster's uses a small idler down on the stand off, but haven't looked to see if it still has the larger plastic one in the middle.

It has two smooth idlers, one on the bottom like you said and a bigger one more in the middle, both are metal, Not plastic,

im running the Procharger 7.65 crank and a 3.70 blower with the Aster auto spring tentioner set up, was thinking about upping the boost with a 3.4 but ran into this post and the CBR 8.65 crank pulley, i think the 8.65 and the 3.7 combo would max out my D1-sc at around 6,300-6,500 , funny thing is my car never seen 6,000 besides on the dyno for tuning back in the fall of 2009 when she made 740RWHP @ 15.1 psi , AT 5K RPM she gets scary on the street at 5,500 shes goes back to the future! I think on the dyno she was pulled to the set rev limit which was 6,600 , im not 100%% on that but it rings a bell

Yeah I've been curious about that as well. Wish there was a J bracket cog conversion available still.

I also just swapped to a 3.70 pulley on a stock J bracket and the perfect belt was gates K080427HD (42.7).
