I heard the SDCE bracket was spaced away from the motor differently, so you would need to space the pulley differently as well.

Not going to happen my man. You can't even run the factory ProCharger pulley on the SDCE with an electric water pump. I just swapped my electric out for a Vette LS2 pump last week. Just so I can run the 7.65 factory pulley. That's when I found out the bracket and pulley are spaced out about a 1/4" farther from the engine than the Aster and factory ProCharger bracket.

The only way you could get away with running a bigger crank pulley with the SDCE and an electric WP, is if you can run the pump with out the pulley on it. Then it would clear.

Not with the electric water pump. You still have to run a Vette LS2 water pump to run a crank pulley bigger than the 7.250 with either the Aster or SDCE. It's the belt rise coming off the top of the crank pulley that makes the water pump an issue.

The SDCE actually has less of a belt angle than the Aster, but still to much to clear the pump pulley.

I can't use the CBR pulley because my waterpump pulley is offset too far forward I believe. The blower belt hits the front of the waterpump pulley with the CBR in place. You can see in the pic the distance from where the main belt rides in relation to the front of the WP pulley. It seems like the main drive belt rides too far back from the front lip of the WP pulley because the pulley is too far forward.

With the Procharger crank pulley installed the blower belt is below the WP pulley, so I never noticed a problem until I installed the larger CBR pulley(which is a nice piece of equipment btw).

Anyone else have this problem? I'd appreciate it if someone else with the Aster setup would take a pic of where the serp belt rides on their waterpump pulley.

Edit: I used a 53" belt on the close idler hole with a 3.85" pulley and it worked. Put me at 10 lbs of boost. I was seeing 8lbs with the Procharger crank pulley.

Looks like you pulled the water pump pulley out a little to far. I have the 8.65 crank pulley on my car and it works fine.

I agree. I wish there was a way to press the water pump pulley back, but I've read where Aster said it would just push the spindle out the backside of the pump.

Thanks for sharing this info. Hopefully Bob reads this and adds it to the list on his web page.

He already has. And thanks for the pic! I'm might take the waterpump off and remove the back plate so I can push the pulley back on 1/8". Pretty sure they make a replacement gasket for the back plate. Then again it would be much easier to just use the Procharger crank pulley and get a smaller head unit pulley!

I'm using the stock J bracket with the 8.65 CBR pulley and a 4.13 blower pulley. The perfect belt length is 43.50"(K080435HD). Please add to the belt listing.

KO80435HD should be a 43.50" belt. Bob
