The reason i have choosen the BW475 is because PLENTY of gents here on the forum have used it and have had great success. Borg Warner has been making factory party for cars, so i trust that they would build a good turbo. I havnt heard of a BW turbo failure yet and im sure it has happened.

600hp? just to everyone knows as of right now this car IS BONE STOCK, besides a rebuilt engine and arp head bolts thats about it. My plan is to build it and whatever i land with is fine, but i would like to go on the low side. figure out what chassis wise needs to be updated. I could easily buy a set of injectors or add meth to add power instead of 1000 + $ on turbos, just dont see the point in buying a turbo, then buy a bigger turbo to get somewhere i could have gotten right from the get go.

[QUOTE=stoning_volcom;17868884]I have a 98 z28 and have been researching a turbo build for the car. I wanna do a front mount single s400? borg warner, but from what i have seen there are different variations of the s400-s480. I want a setup that can produce 700-800 with the twist of a button.

I thought you pressed buttons? jk

curious what turbo would be capable of handling between 700-800 but be smaller in size? compared to the s475.

Im going to my parents this weekend, the junkyard i used to go to has a website and the listed price for s shortblock is 110$ so im gonna look for a LQ4 if i find one then ill just pull the ls1 and sell it and then put the 6.0 in . the yards inventory states they have some gm trucks ranging from 01-04 so we will see what they got. there is a yukon and a work van that i know of, hopefully something else. Now I would like to switch to MAP, is there a sensor i should look for i can get at a yard of a car or something? please let me no thanks

Thanks man means alot! My older bro passed away back in 09 and when I was younger he had turbo plymouth laser. He built it and I helped and watched, learned from him, so working on cars has always been a joy of mine.

K so I have been reading and watching videos, and thinking. Im 23, have a wife that is terminally ill, as much as would love to turbo charge my car. I have come to the realization that if i go from a factory 300hp car to a 700-900 hp car, that could be a recipe for disaster. So im gonna pace my self, im gonna start another thread over in the bolt ons section. Plans are still the same, pretty much. Suspension build, but for power im gonna do a hci and exhaust build. Pretty much clean the engine bay and make it cleaner. So sorry gents, but i do not wanna put more power to my car or myself and injure myself my wife or anyone else. So im gonna go safe, then build up from there. Thanks.
