Would like to know what injector brand and size are y'all FI guys are using out there on y'all's setup. I'm building my camaro and will be running a 383 CI and looking to get about 1000 RWHP and would like to have enough injector incase I want more power. I will be running the new Holley HP ECU. Y'all's helps is greatly appreciated. Thanks

depends on what fuel, E85 needs a lot of injector for 1000whp. 160s would do but you could get away with a lot less injector if it was pump gas. My 80s have been great but are maxed

Could easily hit 1000whp with 120's with enough pressure (60+) You just need alot of pump. People have been 850+ on 80lb injectors on E85, factory fuel rail as well.

I ran Siemens Deka 60s for 2 years, and recently went with ID1000s. I had great success with the SD60s. The car idled and drove wonderfully in all driving conditions, idle, part throttle, WOT.

I'm still working on my tune with the ID1000s, but expect nothing less from them.

Unless he's planning on 2000+ hp ID2000's are a massive waste of money for 1000hp on E85.

Holley 83lb Injectors...

best thing about the Holley injectors is they come with some known injectors off time data
makes tuning a bit easier.

FIC 127's at 64 psi pressure with boost at 90% cycle made 1009 sae thru a 4500+ stall th400 on my car. Thats 40psi base and 24 lbs boost for a rail pressure of 64-66 fluctuating. straight 93 octane gas

fuel pressure at boost does not matter to the injector size, and I dont mean rail pressure, I mean pressure at the tip of the injector
the thing you need to remember is that the boost reference regulator just allows the fuel pressure to come up to counter act the PSI pushing up on it from the other side...

meaning, 40 psi is still 40 psi to the cylinder even after 24lbs of boost once you use a fuel pressure regulator to pull the pressure up with the boost(that is the point of the boost reference regulator)

so your fuel pressure was at 40,(which is lower than the injector is rated for *43*) and you have 24 psi pushing up, and added 24 from the regulator pushing down which cancel each other out....making you have 40 psi of actual fuel pressure getting to the cylinder

being at 90% IDC on 93 octane with 127# injectors, also tells me you were way rich....probably beyond making good power rich...
with 127# injectors you should be a good chunk of power higher..

I suggest you get some water/meth and then you can bring Air Fuel #'s back up in check to a good spot and you will make some more power

you can make over 1000 HP at the wheels with 80# injectors with Water/Meth and 93 octane pump gas..

Yeah i am just giving all the details of my fuel system. They are 127's at 58, i run 40 base. So they are really flowing 105 lb

And it was not rich. Mid 11's is not rich at 24 psi boost. 1000 thru a th400 is about right. Thats 1200+ at motor

No meth just 93 oct

Anyone have any comments about low vs. High impedance at these HP levels?

low impedance injectors always respond faster than High impedance injectors...its just the nature of the electrical portion of it

so when you have the ability to use a low impedance injector, you will have better results over all, and especially at idle where small pulse widths are necessary.

Outside of a cost difference is there any issue with running a 2000cc injector on a car that is making 1000whp over say a 160lb? I already have 2000cc injectors but for my goals 160's would do well. Is there any other adverse effects to running a larger injector than what is necessarily needed? I know that larger injectors usually carry the burden of drivability issues due to table scaling, but also heard that the FIC and ID 2000's are friendly in that regard.

When I bought these injectors I did so with the intent off having headroom for growth.

160's are enough for 1400 HP at the crank on e85 with some room to spare...

but as long as you can get the pulsewidth small enough to have good idle characteristics, then there is no disadvantage to a bigger injector....

I thought people were having widespread problems with the FIC 2000s clogging when using E85?

Thanks guys for all y'all's input. I will look into the Holley 120's and also some 160's low impedance. If I can get a better deal on the 160's I'll go that rout.
