LS1 vs Iron block

LS1 vs Iron block I have a 2000 LS1 Camaro SS I want I build a 1000/1200hp Twin Turbo it is a 6 speed car. Trying to figure out if I should keep the LS1 or do I need to get a Iron block? And what rods and pistons are best ? Thanks for any input
the only block that gave me problem was the aluminum block . For that kinda power your after iron 6.0 will be your ticket.

If you are going to use a 6.0 iron block this the route I would go.

That motor uses a 3.900 stroke crank IIRC to get you a better piston in the bore for boost.

Most say iron and I'd agree if you're starting from scratch, or can sell your LS motor easy. However, there are also a ton of people running 1k hp on LS aluminum motors. If your LS doesn't sell I don't see why you shouldn't build it for what you want.
What will this be used for, drag racing? Daily driver? Weekend car? Just dyno numbers? All will depend on how hard the motor will be run and for what lengths of time.
