Default What's the best tranny to go with for boost?

What would be the best tranny to go with for boost on my 2000 f body? I already have a BTE Top Sportsman Power glide with the 1.80 straight cut gears. Or should I go with Rosslers TH400 Terminator 4 with 2.48 first gear? Car will be setup for drag radials and plans are to push 1200-1500 RWHP.

all a matter of opinion. personally for a track car..id say a glide. for a street strip car i would say a 400.....for a DD i would say an 80e. you ask 10 different people tho, and you will get 10 different answers. talk with one of the sponsors and let em know what you want or expect from the car and let them work alonside of you to make that happen. good luck.

Glide for track only. TH400 for street/strip. Anything daily driven or taken on trips needs an 80e. Each can be built to handle 1500 HP.

Thanks for y'all's inputs. Will be getting a Rossler TH-400. Would of loved a 4L80 but don't know where to get one built to hold that kind of power

Give Jeremy @ RPM Transmissions a call. Theres a reason their trannies are in some of the fastest cars in the country. Mark Carlyle runs their stuff and hes making double the power youre wanting to make.
