Default better budget build???

So to keep it simple guys im planning to do a budget build with room to grow. Looking at either a 5.3 pt7675 or lq4 s480, Not set in stone. Ive done a lot of research and seems you cant go wrong either way but what do you guys think and why?
This will be going in a weekend warrior 99 ws6. Plan to run a th400 or 4l80e. Have qa1 all around, getting a 9" (not sure on gear till everything is coming together). Looking for 9.xxx et and to beat a 08 600whp evo (dude is a full blown dick). This is my first thread, thanks guys!!!

^ saying 80e so can leave it in drive right. I will forsure go with a 80e if its in the budget at the end. Otherwise a buddy has a th400 he will give me to mess with.

5.3 and S480 would work well with the right cam too. 5.3s are cheaper than 6.0s too

If budget does get tight I do plan to run a th400 with probably 3.08 gear. Biggest goal is to destroy that evo and show American muscle still rules.. And of course run 9's

Budget? Weight and vehicle it's going in?

I think it would hurt more feelings to to beat up on someone with the 5.3 or even the 4.8.

Going in a 99 ws6. Idk the weight. Has AC delete, abs delete, TCS delete, racing seats, and misc. Stuff done. But now going to add rear end, auto trans, and either L33 or lq4.
Will run e85...

Those are pretty heavy... may want to go with the 6.0. Tough call. Here in KS 6.0's are hard to come by and 2-3x the cost of a 4.8/5.3. Should be able to rev the smaller motor higher making the converter quite a bit cheaper. And the L33 is quite a bit lighter. Tough call! Any LS should be able to run 9.xx though.

Im a LT1 guy but from the research I have done I would choose the LQ4. Because your already starting off with bigger cubes which is a little better for torque numbers. Is the 5.3 iron or aluminum? I also would go with the 80E. The TH400E nets a loss of 65-95rwhp over most tranny setups. So either if its a street or strip car I would go 80E with a billet converter. Good luck with either choice!

Great advice there. With that said, I like the LQ4/S480 option.

Forcefed86- your right it is a tough call.! The motors around here vary weekly lol. Tho I feel like since pt7675 is more then a s480 prices might not be far off in the end.

Swampws6- the 5.3 L33 is an aluminum block. If I go 5.3 it will be that block.

Rise of the Phoenix- Why do u like that combo?
Thanks for your replies guys!!

Standard S475 will perform as well as the PT76/75 IMO and would cost you $640 shipped to your door.

The s480 is way id go. If your using the word budget then you'll never afford to max that turbo out lol. The s475 like I have is $650 new and I made 775 on only 16psi and running at 23psi now. Id say close to the 900rwhp mark. The s480 out of your options would be my choice though. 5.3 would be cheaper to.
