Default 01 Z28 Huron Speed Build

Finally getting to writing a thread on my car. Car had about 230+ thousand miles on it when the motor started smoking so I went ahead and pulled the motor and rebuild it. I've been working on my car for a few months now just want to update as I go. Here's a few pics of it before the build.

And the turbo

Hopefully it'll be ready soon! Its a good kit and fairly easy to install. Had a few issues but got them fixed right away. Even on a stock motor it'll be good. Mine was broke so I went ahead and went all out since I was there already lol! That's awesome Mike! Its gonna sound mean coming out your exhaust set up!

Update so far. painted the manifolds up high temp black and did a quick polish on them.

Got the monster stage 4 clutch on along with the light weight billet flywheel.

Painted the valve covers satin black and got an AN fitting welded on them. Installed the brackets, water pump, alternator in its new place and AC compressor.

Also the machine shop welded on the feed and return lines on the oil pan for the turbo. So I got those bolted on. It was way easier putting this thing together out side the car. Put on the new rack and pinion, PA racing kmember, ran the brake lines, poly motor mounts, Huron hot side went in really easy. Wrapped it up in DEI and put on the tensioner.

Going to need to dump the exhaust, sits really close to the oil lines.

And the turbo is on!

Painted the hot side high temp black so it wouldn't rust right away and painted the TURBONETICS letters black.

Nice, why does it sit so close to the oil lines?

Other people have that issue with this kit?

Yeah I cut up my stock fans and put them infront of the condensor. Also had to cut some material off the upper radiator support. Its a really tight fit. Attached them with radiator straps. I dont really think the exhaust is much of an issue though. Once its attached to the rest of the exhaust it will be fine.

That was my thoughts also. I have the same kit and ended up using a set of 12 inch Derale pushers. When they come on you can hear them over everything else at idle, they move a lot of air.

Get a bigger wastegate and alter the wastegate entry point. Trust me. It will creep bad if you use the supplied wastegate and a 75mm turbo. I lost a rod first pull on the dyno due to that and this kit. Once you address that issue it's a nice kit.

Mine creeps a little with a PT7675 CEA but not that bad.
