Aren't thru bolt styles most of the time for aluminum Third members which are subject to deflection more so than iron? Though they are a weight saver.

I had one for a while. Turning was hard and made the car not so much fun to drive. I prefer a locker.

I just wanted strength. I know the more race car I make it the more I will have to fight on the street. I'm not to hard to please though. I'm toying with the idea of ditching power steering for a manual rack. I'll always be on skinnies. I hear it's not bad at all unless your trying to back into a parking spot with a spool in the rear. Lol

You won't even notice a spool unless you break something and have to push it by hand lol I thought I would hate it but doesn't bother me at all.

Parachute mount I have seen works good as a push bar for a four wheeler or something

Started on the back brace for the rear last night. Just welded the center part. Axle tubes are not welded to brace yet. Going to do it in small increments so no to warp the tubes. Back bracing pieces didn't fit that well even after grinding. Guess it would have been better to mig it all up or easier id say. And I found out the studs sent with my rear for the third member are junk. Stripped threads on several before I got them pulled all the way in. So I just knocked them all out. Gonna order ARPs. Here are some pics from last night.

Where did you pick up the brace? Have to see if they have an 8.8 brace.

Because I told Jose that I haven't made my mind up on the ci yet. May be small as 5.3 or may be in the 6.0 range. Who knows it may be even an lsx if this thing gets to far out of hand. Either way I don't see it being much more than a 370ish so those turbos will work well with all. I just had sold my original s475 kit and needed to reinvest the money before it got sucked up on something else. Jose told me those turbos were good to 1700 flywheel on a small to mid cube setup if I pushed them. I wanted to go s472s but he talked me down. Said I was talking way to big for them to actually be useable on a street/strip car. That's why I like calling Forced Inductions. He could have made more money on the others but he told me what I really needed for what I wanted.

I see. What is your et goal with this combo? I went with .91a/r housings for my 370, I was told they'd be good to 1500hp. So far its been mid 8s at 155 and has more in it.

Id like to see mid 8s also. Maybe a good bit more mph. Like to be in the 160s one day.

Got all the wiring out of my way in the engine bay and finished the rear end back bracing. Thats about it till I get my arp studs for the third member. Then I'll install all rear stuff. Or plan to anyways before I get started on the cage.

How much boost are you leaving the line with? Did you ever run it on 10lbs?

I wish when I got my 9" I ordered it with the 5/8" or atleast the 1/2" studs. It's impossible to drill the hardened axles to upgrade from the 12mm studs

Yeah I'll bet. I just figured I go ahead and get the option. Even if it's slightly overkill for mine maybe.
