Default Derale Fan Alternative

So, I had a 16925 fan die on me, summit warrantied it, but, go figure.. their back ordered to end of June tentatively.

I cannot find a direct replacement at that size with the flow rate, any ideas?

I gave up on waiting for the derale fans after a few months of waiting. I ended up moving the lower radiator support and notching the upper to move the radiator down and forward.
Gave enough room to use stock fans.

What size are they and are they pushers or pullers? I have a set of Spal fans I am not using that might work for you.

Just curious, why do you have to go with Derale? There are easily another 15 different fan manufacturers covering a full spectrum of sizes and price ranges.

Its very hard to find a pusher that flows 2000+ cfm at 12"x12". I am in the same boat as i need two to finish my cooling system

For example:

Perma-Cool Standard Electric Fans 12 inch 2300cfm

And it is reversable, so it can be push or pull.

Have you used this fan by chance? It seems from the rating they flow a lot of cfm, but each manufacture has there own scale. If you research the part number online for reviews, they don't have to many good ones. A guy switched to these from his 1400 cfm fans and they did worse. Again if your using them and they work maybe i will try them.

I have 2 derale fans. I've been running on only one for a while now. As long as you don't turn the a/c on it should keep the car cool.

As pushers I definitely need both of them to keep it cool.

OP I'd try ebay and get one off of there.

I wonder if Derale is fixing their wiring issues and that's why everyone is out of these. The fans seem to work good but the provided harness leaves a lot to be desired (google search told me this is a common issue). When one of my fans cut out on me, this is what I found. The 30amp fuse didn't blow b/c it was oversized for the wire gauge causing the wires to get hot enough to melt.

I since had to buy an aftermarket fan harness rated to handle the amp draw of the system...

I hope they do for you, but I would call and confirm that date. Summit originally said the 19th for me as well and that slipped out to June.

I run a leash relay board so I do not use the relay stuff that comes with the fans.

I would wait it out and/or get a cheap replacement to get you by.

I have two derale 12" pullers. they are bad ***. Best fans i've ever used. The perma cool metal blade open fans are good, but I don't think they would hang with these. Not to mention the derale's are cheap. I think the twin set with shroud is under $220 shipped. Edit: I guess they went up in price. They are listed at $247.99

the downfall is that they draw 265 watts each (~25amps). I added a 5 farrad cap to help the voltage draw when they spin up. the cap brought the 3 volt drop down to about 1. A factory controller with softstart would help out quite a bit.

The harness that comes with it is pretty much garbage. The wiring has held up, but the relays were bad out of the box. the wiring harness is on my list of things to fix.

I'm running them on a stock rad in a single turbo silverado in FL. I don't have my AC hooked up, but they will take the coolant temp from 195 to 175 in about 45 seconds once fully warmed up in 80+ degree weather. I have a condenser, 11x11x1.5 trans cooler and a 3" intercooler in front of it. When they are on, you can feel the air being pulled through the intercooler up front.

Here they are...
