I've been gathering parts for my turbo build and plan to use the trick flow heads. I have my crossover, hot side, DP, treadstone intercooler, JGS 60mm WG, BW S480 billet turbo, eboost2 controller, LS6 intake, trick flow heads, custom spec solid roller from Cam Motion being ordered, 4L80 with vigilante 5 billet disc 3500 turbo converter, 3.73 gears, lonnies dual E85 fuel system. Almost ready to tear into this build. I wanted to see nines on my 150 shot with the six speed before tear down but so far only low tens at 133mph. I almost put the car on the lift today and started tearing it apart - I am that close to pulling the trigger on the build. I sold the 317 heads to my son

Even after some weight reduction my formula weighs 3320 without me in it and this is before my cage and turbo set up. I will be removing the borla and nitrous but other than that I will be adding weight. ;-(

We will see how this one holds up and I bet it holds up longer and goes faster than the nay sayers will like to recognize. I have decided to use the trick flows because of the thicker deck and they will make more power at less boost.

i would never say buy trick flows if you already have 317s but since you had them already its a good decision.

Update: tore the car down for the boost build in November and it's going back together. Lost my job end of July so the build has been slower then planned. Here is a little thread I started but need to update again soon.

Was hoping you would go with 317's, but hell you already had TF's bought.. Understandable choice.

x2. There are lots of very very fast cars on here running 317s. Ones running faster than your goal of mid 8's.
The car denmah was talking about in his reply a few months ago has since ran 7.80s on stock unported 317s.

If they were already bought and paid for, there sure as hell isn't any harm in running the TFs though.

I already had the Trick Flow heads sitting on the shelf, my son grabbed my 317's and bolted them on his car, plus I like the comfort of running a little less boost for the given amount of power and the thick deck of the aftermarket heads. I would have certainly utilized the 317's if I didn't already have them but these Trick Flow heads are truly very impressive looking heads. I probably have overkilled my set up with the heads and solid roller but that's what I typically tend to do. LOL I can't hardly believe how long of a push rod I have to run with the solid lifters and trick flow heads. wow
