Trick Flow or ported 317 heads for big power?
I have decided to take the plunge into a turbo build. I am sure I will have more questions but need to decide what heads and compression to run. I have a forged and studded 347 with ported and milled 241 heads. I also have stock 317 and Trick Flow CNC 215. I am either going to port the 317 and drop compression to 9.4 to 1 or I can run the Trick Flow but my compression will be 10.1 to 1. I understand that more n/a efficiency means I can make more power with less boost but between these two heads would it be a moot point? I am going to start out with about 700-800 rwhp on a T6 set up being spec'd out by Huron speed and crank it up to high 900's after I get my feet wet.
I plan on getting a custom spec'd solid cam and I am leaning toward a victor intake with elbow. I havn't researched this yet and don't want to cut my cowl so it may not be possible, if not I will settle for an LS6 intake unless there is a better option.
What are experienced FI thoughts about head, cam and intake selection along with the compression difference?

9.8:1 compression
FAST 90 intake and TB
378 cid
Custom cam.

Car makes 1026 rwhp at 17#s boost
10.1 on E85 is no problem so you could use the TF heads. But you could also sell them and the 241's have the 317's ported and buy an intake. Key things to be sure of, not everyone knows cams, cheap intercoolers will kill power. When i researched who was best at cam selection on twin setups 1 person kept coming up. I looked at dyno numbers and track times in peoples builds along with at what boost level. Lots of 7-800 rwhp builds not many 1000 rwhp results. Luckily when i was done i achieved the results that i researched and am happy. I sent many pm's. We all like talking about our cars so pm people with real results.

There are so many options when you decide FI, it is overwhelming. I usually overthink my ideas and this is no different I am sure but I'd rather be prepared for what I am jumping into.
I am leaning toward using the 317 heads and selling the Trick Flow because I don't think they are 100 percent necessary and would free up some money for the build. I also worked out what I need to switch to E85, oh my...expensive pumps, lines and injectors. I am now not so hung up on using E85 as I was a few hours ago. I am thinking of running 93 with the 317 heads until I can crank up the power and afford the upgraded fuel system. SO, will two 320 pumps with a hobbs switch through a stock fuel line into aeromotive rails with 80 lb injectors give me enough fuel for 800 rwhp? If so then that is what I will run for a season, save up for the E85 fuel system, then pump it up another notch. I can then purchase the billet turbo, super vic and low pro elbow now and upgrade the fuel later.

IF you want to and are going to run E85, do it from the get go.
I would rather run unported 317's and a stock intake so I could use that money to buy the fuel system I want. Toss out other **** that 'would be nice' and put it into lines, pumps, injectors, etc.

It sounds to me like I should unload the fancy stuff to build the killer fuel system. A killer fuel system with my stock LS1 intake and ported 241 or 317 heads with 10.5:1 compression and a good cam will more then make up for the fancy parts with an inadequate fuel delivery system. It's very difficult to pry my mind away from my conventional n/a and nitrous background but I am going to follow advice of guys who are producing the big numbers FI. I am willing to learn.

E85 with a proper fuel system on a FI car is worth WAY more than any intake or cylinder heads with a band-aided fuel system running pump gas only.
My fuel system is way overkill...perfect.

if you already have the trick flows run them for sure for the thicker deck. if you need to cut cost somewhere cut out the solid roller cam its not needed, stay hyd and put that money for rockers and big money springs towards the fuel. im building a 11.5:1 hyd roller setup right now with tfs heads

I already have the trick flows and the solid valvetrain. It may sound crazy without further information but after running a low lash solid roller I will never go back to hydraulic lifters. The benefits far outweigh the costs even on a street car. I am still undecided with my head selection and wish I didn't have so many options. ;-) I am also undecided on my intake selection as well but I am beginning to get my other components narrowed down like the turbo, a BW476 billet and T6 crossover dual scroll and 3.5 FMIC.

Trick flow heads with an ls6 intake is what it is. I also purchased all the turbo parts. A billet BWS480, treadstone intercooler, all the piping including hot side and a eboost2 controller. I will be getting a custom specd camshaft. I am trying to figure out injectors now. If I decide to run e85 how do I test it and what injector, fuel pump set up will I need? It seems I would be borderline with 100 lb injectors.
