Default To E85 or not to E85....

That is the question. Should I run E85 or just 93? I have a gas station about 3 miles from my house that has a E85 pump. My line of thinking is, if I can't get wherever I'm going and back on a full tank on E85 in a 800+rwhp car then I don't need to be going that far haha!! What are you guys opinions? Was going to use 80lbs injectors on setup listed below but if I go E85, do they need to go to 100s or keep the 80s?

Set up:
Forged bottom end 5.7
Tick Performance custom cam
twin 61mm Turbos
317 heads 3-angle valve job
.660 BTR springs, titanium retainers
LS6 intake
LS9 head gaskets
LS7 roller lifters

Run it and dont look back. I can get 17-18mpg if i stay out of it on the highway. Get at least 127s, my 80s maxed at just under 800whp with a 58psi base fuel pressure

If you has boost and access to a station there is no question. E85 all the way. I'd run it if I could. Closest E85 pump is about 2 hrs away......

What's your CR? You could run over 10:1 no prob on E85.

I run it and I have to mix it. It's no big deal.

Slightly corrosive but so is octane. The real concern with E85 is the solvent capabilities more so then the corrosiveness. Below is a compatibility chart for materials. Some materials like the lining of the fuel lines, gaskets, and 0-rings MAY not be compatible and can degrade with time and contact.

E85 is not corrosive. It attracts water and and thats when rust can come into play. It will clean the living hell out of your fuel tank/system so make sure your tank is clean before the swap over otherwise you will have filter issues. If the car is going to sit for awhile, fill the tank all the way up so that there is no room to collect water and add some E85 stabilizer.

Is there any concern of the changing ethenol % as the season canges (or so I've heard)? That, and listening to the horror stories my buddy told me of the long / winter storage with the stuff is what kept me from running it. Just thought it would be much easier on 93, but the benefits of it are soooo hard to ignore!

I would rather do methanol injection, 93 is available almost anywhere.
