huron speed guys step in

What does your alternator look like now after moving to the top of the pass side head?

Pix and how much had to be cut.

I just cant put myself to cutting a brand new alternator covering smh

I dont have pictures, but I removed the entire plastic cover and spray bombed the whole thing in a black high temp paint. Looks pretty good to me! If I remember tonight, I can snap a pic for ya.

I used a 140a truck alternator and removed the entire rear cover.

Is it safe to use the alternator without the rear cover? The battery stud
on mine is a little too close to the fuel rail fitting crossover

Have a truck alt now but before I trimmed the rear cover on the stock alt and yes it was close to the stud on mine as well.

I did the same thing, tight to the fill neck but works fine.

Be careful removing the intake manifold if you have a metal one with a relocated alternator. Sparks will happen if you forget to disconnect the battery and having loose fuel rails with this makes for an exciting day.
