Doge/Chrysler has a history of doing crazy **** like this in the past. Its not the first time.
Your blind if you think NHRA has never pulled any shenanigans. There are some corrupt people running that program.

I just wish they would have massaged the rear wheel wells and put a 315 or 335 tire back there. The tall, skinny tires just look weird to me.

Has HPtuners or EFIlive unlocked the Dodges yet? I know that tuning is one of the things holding the mods back from the Dodges. Sure you can put a blower on it, but tuning it is another story.

And, for those of you with a family, you can get yourself a bottom 11 second 4 door sedan.

The Charger is a quicker faster and better looking car than the Cadillac.

While I can agree with the quicker / faster statement, better looking is debatable. The V's look so much classier and muscular at the same time compared to the dodge, but again, it's opinion. Just like which looks better, camaro or firebird, it all depends who you ask.

One thing people keep forgetting is how hard it is to tune the dodge's. There's no open tuning suite like Hptuners or EFILive yet. HPtuners has some support, but not a lot, and it's not complete, and it's not cheap, but to their point, there's not a lot of demand either. For every 1 dodge, there's 50 GM vehicles being reprogrammed.

So yes, from the factory, it's 700hp, but to get anymore is going to be tough. Sure turn up the boost, but will the fueling compensate? That's a question I'd want to know on the dyno with a wideband before I started swapping pullies. But take a V, throw on a pulley, inlet, exhaust, program, and it's got 700+ hp no problem.

So while I applaud dodge for putting out more power, they really need to embrace the aftermarket and open up their programming if they ever want to get a fraction of the market that GM or ford has.

Or go buy a Hellcat, do nothing to it and enjoy having a factory warranty that's intact.

I agree. I'm simply responding to those who think it's a pulley swap away from making all this extra power. It's not that simple.

Yeah becuase that statement applies to most people on this board..... I'm with the alchemist the power numbers are fantastic and so is the HP race that insues when manufacturers do things like this but dodge is notorious for keeping there OS under lock and key which pretty much shuts the door on aftermarket expansion/interests.

I can't disagree, it sucks that Daimler-Chrysler/Cerberus handled that situation like they did.
Maybe with Fiat running the show and SRT becoming a much bigger player in the arena than they used to be they'll cut things loose.

Exactly the Hell Cat will sell just fine bc you are getting super car power for muscle car money with a warranty. Can you build on for less, sure but you wont have a good warranty as the dealership offers, or one at all

Ummm, huh?

9 Second Charger, stock PCM

8 second JGCSRT8, stock PCM

9 second Charger, stock PCM

I cant find a vid of the Charger that's been 8's, also on the stock PCM, There are no limitations to the stock PCMs being used today.

I'm not sure what PCM will be in the Hellcat yet, but, we will support it and it will be fully tuneable

I memory serves me, Kenny Bell was one of the first guys to attempt to super charge
the new ram tuck with the 318 and 360. He had a hell of a time getting into the ECM for tuning. It was like Mopar didn't care if you wanted to hotrod there stuff or not.

They must have made things easier in later years.

There are not a lot of options for tuning the early JTEC controllers, but there are means of getting it done currently.

As for it being made easier....not by a long shot
In 2011 Chrysler added an encryption to the PCM that took us almost 2 years to crack. In 2013 they added a new bootloader that made the PCM almost tamper proof, took another 6 months to get around that.
They are intent on keeping us out, but I have no worries about them succeeding
