That's a Lingenfelter pulley. I milled the grooves.

It looks like your cuts are inline with the center of the pulley. If you look carefully at a Reichard, it looks like he offsets the pulley center from the cut, and it cuts at an angle. Just an fyi if your gonna experiment.

With any testing, are you ensuring identical belt tension ?

Thanks for pointing this out. I'll have to take a closer look at that. Reichard uses a couple features that I do not use... I guess that's one more. Regardless, what I did seems to be working better than a smooth pulley.

Yes. This all happened in the same morning. He used the same tensioner and belt, and did the street tune immediately after I finished.

I know this is an old post but since the crank usually slips can you do this to the crank pulley?
