Default Why are there so few twin turbo setups on here?

I am currently building a 5.3 with two 66 mm turbos that I had laying in my shop. It's going in a 1965 c20 flatbed and I can not for the life of me find much info on this. I have a slight understanding of what needs to be done and a lot of post on here have been helpful but I have been looking for some pictures of tt's in an engine bay with lots of room

Well pics of twins in a f-body based forum with lots of room are not going to be plentiful. I can think of atleast 5 people with TT setups though. Lastls1, mrstepheneades, transam96230(?), theres a old nova or chevelle with some, blackws666 i think went TT

Single turbos are usually more cost effective, take us less space, and are less complicated.

If you're looking for pictures of twins, look here:

I wouldn't call it an F-body forum....

You should look here, this is my favorite section of LS1tech

The majority of cars on here are f-bodies. Not saying there isn't others but as you scroll thru the FI section 4 out of 5 new builds are usually f-bodies.

Still lots of good info just may not get many pics of a swap vehicle like that one. The Performancetrucks at the top of the site would net some good info aswell.

Twin 66s on a 5.3 would seem to have a lot lag on the street. A 6.0L would be a better option if you already have the turbos. What a/r housings are on them ? My current 6.0L has twin 6165s in a 69 chevelle and its getting crowded under the hood.

1.00ar 73mm turbine divided t4 on the 66s. Don't really care about instant boost on the street. Its going to be a cruise around weekend car with 8 sec track potential lol. And ill not be visiting the track that often. Jose told me that these would do well on a 5.3 platform with the right cam and converter. 6.0 would be better but a 5.3 has a thicker block I believe and 30psi is gonna push the stock gm blocks no matter which one I choose.

Seems like it would be hard to get the sizing right on the first try. I plan on starting small and working up as/if needed.

I even thought I had a lot of room until I tried fitting two of everything in the engine bay. Twin turbo setups do get crowded, are twice as expensive and twice as complicated

I envy your hood clearance. I'd like to use one of those intakes, but I'm not sure I could see over it.

4" glasstek cowl. It's not bad at all from the driver's seat

Twins are a pain. Plus the limited space factor..... I am going big single next time around.

I had to cut a little of my ws6 hood away for the tb area of the proflow.

This 2" just did clear the MP112. I think another 4" might require mirrors to see around.
