Whats the status of your car now? Built motor? I'd turn it up a bit for you.
Yeah its a built motor now but its the same setup as when it was stock, so the power is the same. I just dont worry as much now haha.

Car isnt more than a mid to low 140 car as it sits now, i cant turn it up anymore cus all it wants to do is spin, especially in the cooler weather. You'd probably be fine right where you are at with the weight advantage.

Ill figure out traction next year, not enough time left this year.

Multiple vacuum sources is not a positive in my book.. Having a single point of reference with the appropriate sized feed line is the trick to success.

With the 4 banger stuff, I have seen BOVs not open under low load with a Vaccume block, and work perfectly by simply giving them their own source. With was with a 1/2 in line feeding the block. I just dont like it for things like FPRs, and Gates specifically.

A few people have asked me how effective my 2 stage controler is. Well, here is a video. :yay:

Its just a EVAP solinoid switched with a toggle controling the signal to the gates.

http://repairguide.autozone.com/znet...52801ce358.gif

The switch controls which side sends signal to the gates. I just bleed with T's to get the desired boost level. You can use a $5 home depot boost controler for each stage as well for finer adjustemnt, in which case you would have a $10 2 stage controler. I would work on a way to have it on a speed tirgger, but I dont have a speed sensor to work with at the moment.

Cheers

I had nothing but issues with multiple Vacuum sources. My block has a 5/8" feed line feeding it right off the back of the intake manifold. I think the key is line size and obviously replicating actual manifold pressure.

All good things must come to an end.

I took a deposit on the motor and told the buyer I would check the rods before I shipped. Low and behold-3 are visibly bent! I an sure there are more than have a little wave in em' but needless to say the deposit was returned!

To recap-852whp@21psi uncorrected (872whp STD)

Best of 10.2@146 on 15psi

Bone stock Ls1, down to the cam!

I have a 05+ 5.3 to try out with the "big" rods to see if the dyno queen can squeeze some Jam out of another $200 motor! Turbo set up will be new as well-only to try out a single set up. I have to say, it will be hard to beat the twins! We will see.

Updates on LS JUAN 2.0 coming soon...

Yup, happy about that. Pistons look perfect as well! I think the few Mexico runs when it accidently made in the 25+psi range did her in since it was lean on the dyno at 22-23psi, im just happy it survived the season

Onward an upward!

Im keeping the car! Just got a great offer for the turbo kit as a whole, and the motor (deposit refunded) so I am trying a 05+ "big rod" motor.

Honestly I think this happened one night in Mexico. I left work on a nice night and went by one of the local gathering spots. Its been taken over by a younger crowd as of late. I was asked to pop the hood, and left it opened as I was socializing.

After being asked for a few runs, I noticed the car was breaking up on my initial hit (usually do a rolling burnout in 2nd to heat up the tires). Car NEVER breaks up, so I figured it was a fluke. Did a 2-4th run-and it was breaking up most of the time under WOT-I had to go 3/4 throttle to keep it happy. WOT in 4th and the car spun so hard I ended up fully in the other guys lane (luckily I was a good bit ahead ) On the way back I did a test pull and saw it PEG the boost gauge an the AFR spike lean!!

Come back to find out some little **** turned my MBC to full jam. With deka 80's and Twin 255's- I simply dont have the fuel for 950, 1000, a billion, or whatever ti was making that night. I honeslty think that is what did them in even though I took the car out (and raced it) a few times after that. But it was late in the season when this happened.

Live and learn-hood stays shut from now on!

The reason this motor was so cheap from the junkyard is it was in a fire, and I negotiated the price baised on havign to replce all eletrical sensors (none of which I was using anyways. Manifold and most of the wiring was intact so it could not have gotten that hot, but the motor was failry crusty

Crusty-

And some more carnage pics.

Evidently, she was making some steam. This is the pinion gear actually splitting apart at the seam. Yikes!

Near or over 1000chp is a lot to ask of a stock rod evidently. Who would have though? Most of the rods looked like this. The pistons look perfect.

Thanks to a great tune from Erik @ backstreet performance, I will be reusing these pistons again!
