I have been watching your build. Looks like it goes pretty good for a 68mm turbo. Thanks for the video now I have to go work on my gt45

Us Chevelle site guys like it!
Put up a photo of the new paint job!

If I were working, I'd love to do a 4.8 in my kids S10. The whole budget deal on all the turbo stuff.
It would smoke his 350 for sure.

Nice work. Very clean.

Thanks guys I have been away from tech for a while just checking in here and there. Cars still running great I ended up going down to Mir for the last test and tune of the year, and managing an 11.3 @129 with a 2.0 60ft on 12lbs. I was still on street tires. I can not get this thing to build any boost on the footbrake. I've tried everything. I can get like 1lb of I sit on the 2step for 10 or 15 sec lol.

More recent news though my daughter has to have open heart sergery on Thursday so my wife and I have been preparing for that the best we can. My wife is taking off work for a couple months while she recovers so money will be tighter than I like it to be so all money for the car will be put on hold till spring.

I hate to hear anything about a kids health. I've got a daughter who will be 2 in April and a boy coming in June. I'll remember her tonight when it's prayer time.

Thanks man I really appreciate it, and congrats on the boy. this is our 4th child, and our 3rd daughter. After having 3 healthy kids it really makes you appreciate everything you would normally overlook or take for granted.

7.51 at 103 in 1/8. Lol! What was boost on those passes?

Without having to go back and look, what tuning program and map sensor?

That pass I turned up the boost to 12lbs and 14* timing. All other passes were on 7lbs. Holley hp efi and a holley 3bar map

Thank you I will def keep you guys posted on how she's doing. A buddy of mine goes 10.3x @ 130 so I know once i get it to leave the et will be there. on the footbrake in 1st gear I can only build 1lb of boost so the car leaves like a turtle, and dosent come in till the 60ft. I've tried everything I can think of to get it to spool but it just won't. I need someone with exsperiance with the holley's boost builder function to give me some pointers I guess lol

I cant build any boost either on the footbrake alone, but with the Holley EFI use rev limiter #2 as a "2-step" set to 2600rpm, and then the boost builder to drop timing to 10* and a fixed amount of fuel once I get to 1psi of boost. This way I can get at least 7psi and a little more tweaking it will be 10psi.

I have the 2-step/boost builder activated with 12v into the EFI which is done through the brake pedal and a toggle switch. This way, when you let off the brake the two functions are turned off and the car takes off.

Beans

Thanks for sharing your turbo Nova build. It is refreshing to see such a high quality build on a real life budget! This is almost too weird to be true, but we have very similar backstories on our Novas: When I was 16 my parents bought my ’73 Nova for $750 as a birthday present. I drove it all through high school and for my graduation project I did the body work and restoration. Then she sat for almost 6 years with a dead 307 before I dropped a junkyard 5.3 in it. Crazy!

I wish you the best of luck with your daughter’s surgery and a speedy and complete recovery! My wife and I just had our first child 6 months ago and I can barely fathom going through something like that! We will keep you and your family in our thoughts! Best of luck!

3000 stall and 3:25 rear gears. When I ordered the converter from ptc I asked for a 35-3800 stall but this is what I ended up with lol it drives nice and is tight up top

I have mine set up the same way but mine is activated by a ground. I have a button mounted next to my shifter. I have the boost builder set to 10* timing and I have rev limiter #2 set to spark only, off at 2600 and on at 2500rpm. I haven't tried using the fixed fuel with it yet I've just been adjusting the base fuel map in those cells. If I sit there for 15 sec it might build 1lb lol. I've tried leaning it out a enriching it. I've tried different timing. It does the same thing no matter what I do

Dont think you want to mess with the main fuel and spark tables, let boost builder do that for you. I would do a datalog while your trying to build boost and see how many lbs/hr your pulling. Then go to the fixed fuel and add a little less. My engine (LQ9) was pulling around 120lbs/hr so I set the fixed fuel to 80lbs to start and the turbo started to take off. The AFR was lean like 19-20:1 which may not be good, so I may fatten it a bit to see if I can keep the boost where it is and get a little more safety.

Thank you and congrats on your first child! That is crazy how much alike our stories are. I often wonder if my parents knew what they where starting when they bought me this car haha.

Here's a video from the track this is an 11.49 @126. You can clearly see the car crawls off the line
