Default FMIC Questions????

I have done a search and it just made me more confused to what I should be shooting for.

Bar and plate= GOOD right?
I have a Formula so about how big should the IC be, besides the biggest one I can stuff in there?24x12x3 big enough?
3core or more?
CFM, What should I be shooting for? 900-1000-1100+
Should the inlet/outlet be 2.5in or 3.0?

Now for mounting in the nose, what needs to be removed, bumper foam and bumper support(steel brace that is under the nose) or just cutting the bumper foam. Is it pretty easy to mount it under the nose with brackets or is it some serious welding work and fabbing? I know I will be cutting out the space behind the front plate cover for airflow.

I need to know how much of a project I am looking forward too.

I have a D1-SC and hopefully will be pushing 15psi....

What is the formula to get ci with the intercooler size?? I was told we need around 85CI to do the job and we have 41ci now with the intercoolers that came with the ATI kit. Most intercoolers are made of what?? Aluminum?? so what kind of welder would be needed to weld brackets on it? Jer we took my friends front brace out and all the foam and it took a little while but wasnt hard. What one are you looking at and how much?

PSJ, I liked yours a lot. I just don't know if I need that much intercooler, thats why I asked all those questions up above. But yours gave me a good indication of what I need to do to the bumper but its not like there was a write up on all that was done to the bumper foam, support and what/how you mounted the IC too......that I remember, but I am old.

Kyle, sup buddy......got some bad news about my SDCE kit today and ATI also screwed up the pulley shipments...they sent me the wrong one, it's an offset pulley and its not suppose to be offset

41CI is that it man that is weak. I am not looking at any right now, just trying to get some specifics on what I need to look for. The welding is no problem, I have a buddy that can TIG and he said he can MIG aluminum too, so thats good. Just trying to get a good picture on how it will all go up.

Bar and plate= GOOD right?
--Sure is.

I have a Formula so about how big should the IC be, besides the biggest one I can stuff in there?24x12x3 big enough?
--My Griffin FMIC is rated for 1500 cfm, and it's 4.59 x 30.00 x 13.85 and it's raked foward a bit.

3core or more?
--I forget.

CFM, What should I be shooting for? 900-1000-1100+
--You have a D1 it's rated for 1200 cfm right?

Should the inlet/outlet be 2.5in or 3.0?
--Mine are both 3.00.

--Removed entire bumper support and relocated horn. Brackets were welded to the FMIC and those brackets are attached to the old bumper support brackets.

I need to know how much of a project I am looking forward too.
--Z8's installed all of mine but if you are handy like that it's obvious. You need to look at how you would route the ducting.

I have a D1-SC and hopefully will be pushing 15psi....
--Definitely will max out the twin D1 'coolers by then.

Thanks PSJ, yep I am pretty good with the tools and fabbing stuff up on my own. Just need to know those few things. Man thats a huge FMIC you have stuffed in there
The D1-SC flows 1400cfm, so the one you have looks to be a good fit for me too. I guess I will be losing all the piping, plenum and twin IC's to make room for 3 inch blower to IC hoses and 3inch from the IC to the MAF/TB.

Bos, I just hope I see mine soon

My ducting come up thru the spot where the battery used to be but you might do it differently since you have an ATI.

I'll still try to route the ducting through the cut outs in my air dam, one from the blower(driverside) to the IC and then from the outlet of the IC(pass side) and up in front of the radiator to the MAF/TB.
