Default Stuck , need some advice!

I have been weighting for this for a long time ,and now I have the cash to build and I am so stuck . I am no farther now than I was a year ago . I have a 1999transam with m6 . I was wanting to do a 408 with a Novi 2200 , or a 408, or 370 with a S480 turbo with a billet wheel . I am so lost here . I want something I can drive almost everyday , and I want to take it to the track an do some good times . I also like to do some roll racing with it . I am having a hard time trying to decide the direction for my car . I am looken for 700-850 hp . So please school me here . Thanks I had forgot to mention I have 15k to do it with .

this is just an opinion but i whould by a nice 2005 to 2006 6.0 engine change the head gaskets and cam , go with your s480 turbo and get the system working good turning it up as i go . if the tune is right you should have no issue getting your numbers. and id say with a little left in your pocket. there are plenty of guys making that kind of power out of good sound stock engines. and if you mess up along the way and toast a piston it wont be a big deal to fix it.you can melt a piston and push a head gasket just as easy in a built engine as a stock one if the tune is off. id spend the money on a good turbo. and good support hardware like fuel system, intercooler, quality stuff to make it last . jmho.

the blower setup with be the best "bolt on and go" platform. the turbo setup is going to inevitably require some custom work to get done.

IF 850 is all you want, dont even bother with a 408. You're just adding cost to the motor that you could put elsewhere. build a nice 5.3 or 6.0 and let the supercharger or turbo do the work. Spend the money on getting a nice drivetrain in the car and making it, thats where the fun is at.

Why would you waste money building a 5.3 vs a 408? Either will do the job but the 408 will be working less doing it. If you are going to spend money building a engine then build what you want to build the first time and save money in the long run.

I lean more toward turbo for all except track with m6. Unless you got a drivetrain that can handle a 4000 rpm launch off the 2 step and hook the turbo is not gonna wake up in time to be worth anything time or mph wise. My ls1 with s475 made over 800 and never could get a decent spool for track days. M6 you might as well stay off the track unless you got good tires, full suspension, and beefy drivetrain. I sold all my stuff. Going auto now since it's not a daily car. If it was I would of stayed m6 and just stayed off the track.

It sounds like you've had some bad experience with an M6 at the track.OP I would however save some money and beef up the drivetrain, T-56 magnum, 9" ect. You'll need it sooner or later

Buy my turbo kit. I ran a 9.80@141 with 10lbs of boost on my 346. I never had a problem with temps, IAT or ECT. IAT's were usually around 150 at the end of a 1/4 mile pass in the heat, ECT max was 207 with the derale fans.
