Default Driving with an E85 tune on pump gas 94?

...2wd 07 Silverado 4.8 LS9 cam, single t76 turbo.
With proper supporting mods/fuel system...
Could one create a tune for max boost/power&tq. on E85,and just dial back the boost on a manual boost controller and drive around on pump gas 94 safely?
Not a daily driver.
I would not be doing my own tuning, nor do i own the software.
There is only one E85 station in my city...
Thanks
Dom

If the operating system has flex fuel tables, then YES. If not, absolutely no.

what pcm?

If your tuned for E85 and fill up with gas its gonna be super rich, since E85 requires more volume.

well if you are just driving around with 93oct on a e85 tune that doesn't have flex fuel you'd be running the car very rich. To the tune of 30% (give or take) more rich of a fuel mixture. I've wondered this myself.

Side note. During the winter I'm going to pickle the fuel system with 93 octane but that is just idling gasoline through a fuel system and tune that is set for e85. As for driving it, that i'm not sure of. id imagine it could be fine as long as you aren't romping on it and staying in vacuum at low rpm. My concern would be what becomes of the extra fuel that isn't being burned off. Would be interested in hearing what others have to say.

In closed loop idling around, maybe. The fuel trims would trim out a bunch, but the second you touched open loop it would just dump in fuel. Starting may be a challenge too.

If you tuned the car on say 60psi base fuel pressure. Then when you filled up on pump dropped the fuel pressure down to 30ish you can get it pretty close. I did this on one of my setups and it worked well.

If your using 800cc injectors at 60psi base and drop the pressure down to 30, then they will act like 565cc injectors. Basically a 30% smaller injector.
