a 60-1 will drop off on 5.7l engine no matter where it's mounted, like front mounts are dropping off from people's cars it must be some record, all of last year there were less people leaving fi that jan-june 2004. and methanol injection became so popular too.

Nice numbers!

Running the methanol injection for any boost level will allow you to increase timing advance and make more power. As IAT rises, there is a table in the computer that commands timing retard (more for higher temps). This is not caused by knock, but used to try and prevent it. However, because of increased IAT, knock is more likely to occur. Even though the STS piping acts as an intercooler, for high boost (8-10psi) the methanol is usually desired. For low boost it is not needed.

Lets see that 10psi dyno graph...

how hard is it to change A/R ratio? do you need a whole new exhaust housing? i what do they use on their kits again, .67 A/R? i would try maybe a .75 or so otherwise you would most likely have huge lag.

Its easy to change. The standard kit for an LS1 comes with an .81 housing. Lag isnt bad at all.

what exactly has to be done? could i get a kit with a T76 and a small enough A/R for it to have decent spool up and when i build up the engine, just change the A/R for slower spool but more lb's/lower restriction?

A t76 is too big for this system. You can upgrade, but I would go with the t67; start with the .81, then maybe go to the .96.

Limit Engineering can explain why A/R doesnt effect lag the way you think it might, I suggest you make a call to John Craig.

as in not matched for this system. the size turbo that works for the remote mounted system would not be the best for a front mount and the same goes for a turbo that works well in front will not work the best in the rear.

thanks jammer.
and trtTurbo: the intake side has nothing to do with where it is mounted, it takes a certain amount of CFM to produce a given horsepower, a bigger turbo will have the capability of flowing more air than a smaller one. the exhaust is where the real difference is, not the intake.

Default Intercooler

Does anyone know if this kit comes with and intercooler, and if not how much do you think hp or boost for that matter can be gained by adding one?

It doesn't come with an intercooler.

If you run low boost then you might not gain much with an intercooler but over 7psi you will need one or you'll need Alky injection. One or the other or else the motor wont see much power

I went with meth. Check sig for dyno sheet. Imagine on an LS1
