Wow.. heck of a cam there ! When will yours be together and dyno'd? I'm praying that I have mine ready to install by the end of April. I bought the complete engine back in August and will all that has gone on, the builder *just* got the balanced rotating assembly and machined block last week. Then came this hiccup on the heads. But things are moving, albeit slowly.

Picture of the heads on the sellers motor

Intake port to show they're in good shape and stock.

Stinking weather delayed FedEx from delivering my heads today. Now they say tomorrow. I have to sign for them when they arrive so I can't go anywhere till they arrive.

On the positive side, I dropped off my cam (Isky Triple 12), intake(LS1), fuel rails, Fbody oil pan, gaskets, etc to the guy degreeing in my cam. While there, I got to see my block, crank, rods, pistons and bearings. He said he expects to make good progress over the weekend on assembly

Got the heads delivered today. Bless those FedEx drivers in this snowy crappy weather...Hardly makes a difference but these turned out to be 799 heads. Solid valves as opposed to the hollow/sodium filled. They're in good shape at least

So..the 2012n 7,xxx mile 799's arrive. They look good. I chase the bolt holes, do a light cosmetic cleaning and take them to my engine assembler. On the bench he's got these beautiful CNC ported 243s blowing me kisses. Grrr.... So. I bought them. Now I have a pair of 799's ready for sale. Lol....

The new heads flow 320cfm on Intakes.

Just what I paid for them. $520 shipped. They're out of a 2012 medium duty truck with 7K miles on them.

Good thing they weren't 6 bolt heads or you would need a new block.

I know. This thing has no plan. Just throw money at it till its somehow complete. It's like envisioning a 1970 Dodge Dart and ending up with a 2015 ZR1.

More bit's and pieces arrived. LS1 to TH350 flex plate and ARP Flexplate bolts.<br/>

Hi. Yes I did Stout looking piece ! If this snow ever lets up, I'll get to install it. My engine *should* be ready to pickup from the machinist on the 27th or 28th, by his reckoning. I'll put it on my engine stand and mock up the turbo/hotside so I can see how everything hooks up, fits, etc.

Ported Stock LS1 3 bolt throttle body arrived today. These are like $68 or so with your old TB as a trade in. All cleaned up, ported, shaft has been half shaved.
I was wondering, being new to the LSx world, do they normally have that hole drilled in the blade? I thought that was something the big cam guys did to get a little more idle air.

Idle air control and TPS side

Nice and clean. New spring too.

Ported and shaft halved for more throughput

It also came with new allen head bolts/washers/Allen wrenches for the TPS, IAC and TB mounting.

All ls f bodys had the hole in the throttle body. If the engine/cam setup is maxing out the iac counts (310) with the fueling and timing dialed in, it would be time to open up the hole on the throttle body to help lower the iac counts.
