I think foe the S10 build I'm going to give it a shot. My header guy wants $3000.00 to build me 2 headers and the y pipe. The only problem is it might be to high. Gonna give them a call on Monday. It looks pretty good.

Not a good design with the primary pipes dumping straight in like that you could probably build a log yourself cheaper that will flow better plenty of well designed logs on here you could copy.

Your "guy" Is treating you like a stranger. 3k is way over priced. Do some research in this section. There was a guy who build a turbo s10 a few months back. He was selling it too.

Also whats the deal with welding the V bans to the the stock manifolds. People have told me that it wouldn't work and it would crack and brake. They say you can't weld to the cast manifolds.

i would say that 90% of the builds on here use stock manifolds with v-bands welded on. Whether the turbo needs to be supported or not depends on the system and the turbo.

They haven't done their homework or they have never tried it.
99% of us have welded pipes or v-bands to these manifolds with virtually no issues, and most of us are amature welders at best.

the vbands weld to the stock manifolds great. the turbo is just hanging on the manifolds but the downpipe is also mounted and supporting some of the weight . my tc78 is a lot lighter than the borgs weigh. the stock manifolds are cast steel not cast iron. just fit it up nice and weld it up .here is another pic.

.023 steel mig wire and 75/25 just like anything steel . I weld about a 1/4 to 3/8 and stop for a second then again just to keep from burning thru the 2.5 exaust pipe that I welded to the manifold . the manifold it a good 1/8 thick and I wanted a little more heat but didn't want to burn a hole in the thinner pipe. I have ran it on the street and track for this year and it still looks good.
