He's right. Both end tanks are identical but the actual core of the LT1 is almost twice as wide.

I haven't bolted it up yet, but I should be able to.... I hope.

It's a 1st gen F1a I beleive. I bought it from stmz28 when he went bigger.

You have to shoehorn the elbow on even the D1. We'll see how it turns out.

Thanks.

Here's where I finished for the day. I started off the day with a 3 hour swap out of our garbage disposal that was unexpected. Then my in-laws stopped over with their new c7 Z06, and I had to go for a ride in it, and then the kids wouldn't give me more than 10 minutes at a clip to work on it.... but I still made some progress.

Fittings for the fuel rails should be here this week, as well as the catback. WIth any luck, I will fire it up this next weekend.

Any progress on getting the throttle cable mounted?

If anything you might be able to use one or two 3/16" or 1/4" hose line clamps, to bolt it down to the top of the intake manifold.

I'm working on rigging something up, if nothing else, to let me start the car and have some control of the throttle, but MSD is prototyping theirs right now and I should have something from them soon.

Ha ha. My kids do the same thing. I can tell them to go outside and play, show them that it's a nice day, and they would still rather play Minecraft indoors. Once the garage door opens and I'm holding tools they come outside and it's "Watch this Daddy!" until I nearly flip my lid.

Yeah, my kids are 6 and 8, and were playing out in the driveway, and the same thing. Every 10 minutes it was something else.

Thanks for the compliment. More pieces of the puzzle are coming together. I should have the catback soon, as well as a couple little odds and ends needed to get it running like new belts, fuel rail fitting, etc etc.

I need to make a final decision on where I'm mounting the MAP sensor, it'll probably be on top of the intake in the back. Then I can mount up the intake manifold and cross one more thing off my list.

I'm laughing to myself because I think we can all identify with the delicate balance of Family & our Obsession !!!
The bad news ...... My kids are a bit older 19 & 23 .... And it doesn't stop.
The good news .... It doesn't stop.
Today my lovely wife has dictated that we must shop for patio furniture, at least I have the Barrett Jackson auction to attend tomorrow.

The build looks great ! Thanks for the details. The new changes should yield some real increases in the entire power band.

I have to ask .... How was the ride in the ZO6 ??

I feel your pain. My wife went out with our daughter last weekend and decided to buy her a new bed at IKEA. It came in about 23 boxes, and 1120 pieces. I've been working on getting it together since Thursday night.

The ride in the Z06 was impressive. My brother in law is obeying the letter of the law from GM and keeping the rpms down through the first 500 miles. The tach actually goes yellow at 3500rpm, and red at 4500rpms. But even with that, the 8speed auto shifted from 1st to 4th so quickly as he rolled into the throttle. It felt quick, but not violent like my car is. I don't even think the exhaust cutout opened on our ride.

I like it more than the ZR1 and c6 Z06 simply because it has an open top. I love driving with the ttops out, and that has held me back on getting a z06. The ride was extremely smooth as well. He didn't get the Z07 package, but is wanting to get the brakes, so I'm doing some research for him. It's a gorgeous car.

My car is still faster and meaner though.

Well, it was faster before with the D1 and 347, so now with the F1 and 416ls3, it'll be even more so.
