Thanks for posting this matt I just bought one of these 2 weeks ago but I don't have the car done yet so at least I know not to go through the trouble of building a hotside around it.getting rid of it and going with a 475

In my experience the trans fits well, but if you put it up high in the car the round plug on the driver side hits the tunnel. I usually test fit, mark it, pull it back out and go to town with a bfh to make sure it'll plug in. The crossmember will be quite a bit rearward of the stock mounts.

Launching!
Hey Denmah.
Maybe Im trippin but didnt a 7665 make more power on that 300zx with the 4.8? With less boost at that? do you think this is an issue with the 7875? Im considering buying one since I just got a 5.3.

For reference VS racing uses this turbo on a 6.0/6 speed car and makes 862whp on 20psi

as i learn more about motors i start to wonder is the cam timing off on this motor slightly? probably, i think that is the issue with the turbo truck also.
i bought a degree wheel and i will be investigating poor performing combos
also the VS 7875 might not actually be the same size as the on3 7875, i dont really know
the 300z was a 4.8l with a ls9 cam also 7665 turbo
i think that this larger cam might be over running the 75mm turbine? unsure?
it would be neat to put a ls1 cam or ls9 cam in this car and see how it affects power, if its still low i would suspect cam timing or something else maybe.
im not an expert but im learning more everyday haha

Denmah just for reference the VS racing and on3 7875 are identical in wheel sizes and construction. The VS racing just doesn't say anything on it. You have a good working relationship with VS racing it appears, I'm sure he could verify that for you as well.
I also wouldn't be surprised if the trans/unlocked converter are eating up 25-30% over what a 6 speed would show on the dyno. It's just a number and a tuning tool people fail to realize that all too often. When that car goes 140+ making 540whp then people will get it.
