1998 Turbo Trans Am

Then a few days later I had the first new Huron Speed T6 kit.

The car had been sitting for seven years and the original tank was completely rusted inside. So I swapped the tank for a 99+ plastic tank.

I couldn't really find any information on this but the wiring pinout is the same between both tanks.

Some mock up pictures with the old ls1 powertrain.

Made a block off plate to keep the heater.

Griffin dual pass radiator.

Forced Inductions S476.

Added a flex section to the hotside for better fitment. ALL the new V2 T6 kits come with a flex in the hotside and 45mm wastegate flanges.

Pulled the motor.

And painted the bay.

LQ4/4l80e combo.

Heads on.

I started playing with different lower radiator hoses to clear the downpipe and finally settled on this setup. It's a 60 degree 1.5" coupler off the thermostat housing and a 90 degree 1.5" coupler off the lower radiator port. The connecting pipe is a 1.5" 90 degree bend with one side cut down about two inches. Top hose is a Gates 22358 with one side cut off.

Clearance shot with the downpipe held in place by hand. The actual install height of the downpipe is about .30" lower then this.

0411 pcm swap

The angle of this picture is a little deceiving, I was able to screw a -10 fitting on easily.

Twin 38mm gates.

DSX tuning 3 bar map with my boost proof design haha.

Derale trans cooler with fan mounted under the rear of the car.

Amazon special 250 amp alternator with Huron Speed power steering lines. You can also see the oil drain line in this photo as well.

Radiator recirculating can (port is on the bottom of the can facing the radiator).

Mightymouse catch can and fpr mount on the brake booster. Currently installing fuel lines and tranny cooler lines. Hope to start it up this weekend!

It really does. I almost bought the dominator setup about ten times during the swap lol.

I ran a piece of tape down the whole support and on the two sides at an angle. Then I took the cutoff wheel and cut the part facing the engine. I welded tabs on the end tanks of the radiator and made some simple 90 degree brackets to hold it in place (pictured on the left side).

In this picture you can see where I cut the support for the corners of the radiator. I also had to cut the inside of this lip to make it completely flat.

I can take more pictures if you need any

I'll pm you with the links.

Thanks man! The filter is from AFE. I called their sales department and told them what I was looking for. Not only did they discuss about 20 filters with me over the phone, they also gave me the racers discount and free shipping. The filter has a 5" flange, 6" base, 10" long, and 4 3/4" end. AFE can custom build any filter as well.
