Been busy with work and have not spent much time with the project, but do have a quick question with the trans. When I am logging it shows 3rd gear in the table at all times but will not shift out of first, manually or automatically. Any suggestions to this would be greatly appreciated.

So got a lot done yesterday, TCI EZ TCU all in and working sort of, I think the trans is clapped out. Put the new smaller power steering pulley on and all hooked up. Got the dash I made in and mounted gauges and push button. Removed the front header bolt that was broken when the original manifold was removed to then reinstall all the bolts and the rear bolt starts to get snug then pops loose, stripped the head clean inside to where the bolt can get wiggled by hand and sink almost all the way in. Anyone have a good suggestion other than new head?

Time sert? Google, what is a time sert? Damn wrong box. Well on another note the trans is cooked. Shifts to second then runs like neutral. Ordered MS3 Gold and some other odd pieces, and picked up a rear out of an explorer with 3.42 and locker (stole that from the sloppy colorado, thank you), going to throw a four link and coil overs on after the trans swap.

Time-Sert is a hardened insert repair for stripped threads. You drill the hole and tap it to the OD of the insert. Then you run the insert in with the tap provided in the kit and it spreads the bottom and locks it into the new larger threads. I worked at a Honda shop and used these a lot they are great. http://www.timesert.com/

x2 on the heli-coil. I used them on the T5 I had in my SBC converted S10. Needless to say they outlived third gear. Went to a T56 and never looked back.

The time sert is almost what I used on the spark plug that was stripped clean of any threads when I bought some 317's off ebay. Sweet suggestion, thank you for the suggestions. I will be getting it taken care of first thing tomorrow. I hate exhaust leaks more than anything. Hopefully I can find a 4l80e core around here locally for cheap. Hate waiting for parts too.

Arrived today is the MS3 Gold LS Plug n Play. Very nice looking.

Wanted it right where it can be seen, when it is parked somewhere!

Will have it all wired up and ready to fire it. Need to get the header bolt fixed with the Time Sert as well. Going to record a video of the first startup and post it up here.

Dont need a time sert for the header bolt IMO. Simple helicoil will work fine, just don't over torque it. Time sert/keen sert's are used where big strength is needed. Like if you strip a head bolt hole or a main.

I get that, I've used the heli-coils numerous times, just not a bug fan of them and the way things have been going around here it is one small annoying problem after another so not really wanting to deal with a "what if" problem.

I've used heli coils ALOT, even on head bolt holes in blocks. They work great and are stronger than the original threads. There is no need to overkill this with a time sert

First time using a Time Sert and I say I really do like these a lot! The heli-coil deal with me is I am guessing there are different manufactures and I must get a crap brand every so often. The last set we got we used on the intake bolt and with a 1/4" ratchet barely tightening it ripped the threads into pieces. So off came the intake to find about 20 tiny pieces of metal and hope none got overlooked. Anyways these worked really well and got everything back together for the first startup on the new MS Gold box!

Took the S10 out to get some of the VE dialed in on the Gold Box and when it started to come around it lites off and shreds the tires. So kept playing with a few things and still need to sort the trans with no third or fourth and started to roll into the throttle and POP! sounded like the exhaust opened wide and about 10 seconds later smoke was billowing from the drivers side fender well. Limp back and find the cheap bay wastegate cover blew off and burnt through the turbo feed line about 8 inches away. Found the cap and started making the new line and I'm one fitting short.
