Hopefully it is a good cam! We will find out by Sunday as we did some quick wiring and have the motor turning over and will have the pcm and OBD2 port wired tomorrow. Tried firing tonight but found the fuel pump is dead.

Few companies shelf cams are VERY similar to that grind. I don't think it would be ideal anywhere near 7200 rpm. That cam has 2.5* of overlap @ .050 and maintains low overlap at TDC. If you're backpressure isn't through the roof, I think it will work well for what you're doing.

Too much emphasis on cams IMO. Any decent lift duration cam will make enough power to bend the rods. You are talking a 20-30hp difference at most and power range shift of 400-800 rpm in most cases when comparing similar cams.

Heres a couple...

Video of the first start up completely stock, just the 80lb injectors in. No tuning done, basically stock file (injector settings done for bigger) running 2bar SD.

After wiring was put back together and in place.

Not the cleanest wiring job, but it is all away from any exhaust heat. Next time I would rather make the harness a complete standalone for the engine.

Picked up this sweet ride, yes those are sweet 22" rollers!

2002 Tahoe 5.3 4WD complete, minus broken windshield and bent body panels. Short block has roughly 10,000 miles on it and everything works.

So two new headers, which makes it the third one for the drivers side and turbos are finally mounted with feeds and drains. Wiring should be wrapped up tomorrow, just need to sort a dash (someone smashed it to pieces), you know who you are!

Fuse box mounted, ignition and starter wired, pile of wires left over (must be for wipers and horns) that need to be cut out i would say. VCM mounted, just needs a dash. Pigtails for trans that were cut off. So close we can smell the rubber!!

So here we go, shifter is in and works (25yr old Hurst TH350 Quarterstick, doesn't go to first but who needs first), wastegates are back on. go to fire it up and starts, runs rough for about 4-5 seconds then shuts off. Restart, runs for 1-2 seconds then shuts off. Really weird that it ran (very rough) with no O2 sensors or IAT and now with them on and working it will not stay running. Maybe something in the wiring we missed but I think it is in the tune files. Complete mental breakdown
