Got the injector adapters yesterday and found the neutral safety switch plug ends had been cut off so will have to order those pigtails. Hopefully this weekend will be a little slower than last with service but will have it up and running soon. Few changes and buttoning up the steering column and pedal assembly should be drivable. Then off to the dyno to get stock motor numbers to come back and throw a cam and springs and have a second go. I see a lot of varying results with and without cams so curious to see for ourselves as to what the actual increase will be for the cost. Future plans are to get a 9" with 4:56 or 4:88's and convertor. this will be a good distraction as there are endless changes that will be made to shoot for a low 9 or high 8 all steel true street vehicle.

Round two didn't yield as impressive results, but the load was mainly shred able .

So here is where we are at today, we need to make a decision on camshaft, intercooler, fuel system set up and would like to get some input. Feel free to make suggestions on anything as we are willing to consider all options. Thanks for looking.

Maybe read through and see that this project is being built solely from scrap money and not one cent from our pockets. This is the third load of scrap and should be able to finish purchasing the final parts and then some.

I'd say fuel system because cam or ic are really optional but fuel is mandatory

Plan is to fuel cell in the bed and Aeromotive setup of some kind. Definitely doing cam, spring, pushrod upgrade (probably Tick). Possibly internal setup for the 9" we have and good tranny setup. The 4L60 will not be enough but should be the motivation to do the TH400 with trans brake. Then 2 step launch.

I have the fuel cell in the bed of my S10 and use an Aeromotive A750 pump and it works great. I had talked to Aeromotive and that's the pump they suggested for the FI engines. And it fits inside the frame rail easily, so its simple to mount.

Cool deal with the way your funding the build.

Your truck looks really good, I like the stance. Thanks for the pump suggestion. What size tire is under yours?

Thanks. Its has 28x11.5 15. They give me about 1/2 inch clearence.
i want it 1 inch lower in the rear but it will have taller tires when i get the turbo setup on it and ill have to adjust it again. So it might stay this way for now.

Okay so scrap yard was a 2 day event this round. Blown tire on trailer, lost motors across highway, sat parked in a mini mart where every car and person stared at the trailer want to attack like vultures. Made it today and yielded quite an impressive payday. Need to get on with ordering parts. So question is what to order? We will be getting a cam and valve train upgrades, intercooler sorted, and fuel system figured out. Suggestions are welcomed and advise is graciously accepted so please feel free to post anything.

Love the scrap yard build!
Are you going to gut the truck for weight savings?
As for cam- keep it around 224/224(or smaller) on a 112 or 114 lsa +4 (advanced4*).
Call Brian Tooley racing and get his dual spring package and talk to him about what cam to run.

You mentioned an intercooler. Are you going with a turbo? If so them cams and fuel systems are different.

For fuel I was thinking twin 255 walbro in Stock tank, but maybe go with external and fuel cell for weight behind axle. Truck is pretty much gutted.

What was that piece of looked like mandrel bent exhaust tubing on that trailer? Maybe a Dodge stock exhaust? Might have been good to keep that to come off the turbos with. My kinda build. Most of my truck funds come from selling used auto part stuff.

Copper tubing. All of the scrap is from pool equipment and plumbing.
