Default Waste Gate Exhaust Pipe

Hey guys, can someone tell me if you have to run an exhaust pipe on the exit side of a Tial 38MM Waste Gate or can I run it without one? Thanks guys!

I mean, you can. But really you want the gases and heat out of the engine bay

Dump it out of the car or back into the down pipe

It's going to be melting **** quick if you don't

Yeah all it takes is a short amount of pipe to get the gases away from everything.

Here's why I ask guys, in the pic you can just see the waste gate at the top right hanging just below the air dam and the exit is already pointing at the ground so its going to blow straight down at the ground. Tying into the down pipe isn't an option right now and I'm afraid a little piece of pipe will hang too low. Any ideas? Thanks for the input too guys as its always appreciated!

My WG is in a similar location. I run about a 10" tube facing to the back of the car to vent air just below the k member.

Is the gate vbanded or is it on a 2 bolt flange
I'd rotate it backwards a bit if it's on a vband and run a pipe backwards a little

It probably won't matter being open right there honestly, just nice to not have any open exhaust/heat source in the engine bay

Yeah I'm going to fab up a flange and pipe, why not right? Do it right the first time, my luck it'll catch something on fire lol. Just gotta find a 1.5" elbow now....

After seeing your pic, I would still run a pipe a little bit down and rearward.

Never ran any tube or anything, wastegates were already under the car on my low mount setup. No issues.
