Default Lemons12- 370 S484 E85 Build thread

Hey guys.. I'm going to start updating fresh here.

If you care for a long read you can read my original thread here:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/drag-raci...ous-build.html

However, around post #370 the new build started.

Here are some "highlights" to get you up to speed (These are backwards, start at the last link to view somewhat in order):

Current idle vid:

LSFest 2013 Dyno... Back when it was still a daily and 408/all motor.
I missed 3rd place in the all motor shootout by 2Hp.
The dyno operator messed up on the first 3 pulls. By this time it was heat soaked and made nearly 25Rw lower than it did on the first pull that wasn't recorded.

These are kinda funny to watch now.
This was my Pewter car (370 nitrous build from other thread) VS my current red car.
This was before I wrecked the pewter car. I wrecked the pewter car and then bought the red car in the video. LOL

The turbo kit is about to begin. Plan is to race a little this year at Fest so a lot to do!

Still got some other odds and ends also to finish up that I skipped over trying to hurry to have it at the wedding.

Look forward to seeing it progress. I want to go turbo but after not driving my car for two years I'm just gonna go basic budget and get it back on the road. Hopefully start the turbo build after.

Damn, you jumped right in head first without a helmet. I like it.

Also, where did you get the S484 from, and what was the price? I looked, and don't see it anywhere.

Nice to see progress Lemons. I may need to move my build over here from TNFbody. Might pick your brain on some stuff as I get closer to start up.

Dude, don't do the saved for updates thing. That way when we check back all we have to is hit the "first unread" button.

This was supposed to be a budget build! LOL

It almost got started as a 408/ls3 top end/250 hit.. But decided to go turbo... Year and a half later.... LOL

Click the links stephen, I'm using photobucket. Those are posts from my other thread.

Well... It originally was going to be a 7-800Rwhp build. However I am terrible at, "While I'm in there I might as well". HA
So, here we are.
I most definitely have learned everything with feet already hitting the ground moving. I went from knowing next to nothing about turbo builds to where I am now. Been a long journey in a short amount of time. Still more than enough to learn.

I got it from John Bewley @ LJMS. I think he had them listed at 1799$. Contact him and I'm sure he will get you taken care of. Might be a slight wait but worth it IMO. He had 3 in stock a few weeks ago and I jumped on one of them.

I have this issue too which is why my car sat for so long, but my buddy and I finally came to an agreement that I need to just get it running then build the while I'm in there setup on the side lol

It usually takes more money to not do it while you're there.

Instance. I was going to use an eBay a2a. But I was going to had to route it completely different, mount it completely different, and use 3" piping... Basically entire cold side about was going to be changed.

So.... I went ahead and bit the bullet.. so I won't have to spend that money twice and cost me an extra few hundred.

Good and bad. Haha

That "while I'm in here" can break a build rather quickly but also make it much more reliable as well. Depends upon your pain and cost tolerances honestly. I've seen a lot of guys bite off more than they can chew and life dictated a different direction where they had to sell the project because they couldn't afford to finish it. Alternately I've seen guys have nothing but problems trying to get it done too quickly and reliability/performance suffered. Got to strike that balance.

No doubt will..

I am done with the while I'm in there. I am putting it together with what I have, which is the "correct" way. Before I get any more involved and go broke. LOL
Thankfully I have the reliability covered.. I just am running thin on the money! HAHA

After looking at it a good bit we found out that the radiator was going to have to go even farther forward... So we cut the upper and lower core support out. We will find out next weekend where exactly it is going to go.. I have an idea.

Waiting for the new bumper support to come in... Once it comes in the radiator will be mounted, then IC.. After that we got about 30 minutes needed to do the exhaust and the cold side won't take but 2 hours max we think.

Everything is going very good and smooth. Getting closer!

You guys are making quick work of it. Shouldn't be too much longer. I'm really looking forward to seeing how well you're going to like this setup.

Yea, it goes quick once you figure out how you want to route it all. That is probably the "hard" part.

My next kit could probably be done in one weekend. LOL

I better love it!!!!!!
