Nothing here for clearance is much different from truck manifold kits which has been the ultimate go-to since Turbocharging these cars became popular. We still have to move the brake lines for clearance on the forward facing truck manifold kits. Never a single issue with boiling fluid, and we have never heard of a burned through hard line until this. I am thinking the line was getting brittle and from the bending it developed a small crack to which leaked some fluid. In any event just speculating as I have not seen in person, but this is not an issue we have seen before. Regardless, we are working with ls1charged to help get him back up with a new brake line as best as possible no matter the reason to what caused it!

Awesome build, man! Where did you get your fuel lines? Did you use -6 for everything?

A few new pictures of the car.

I added the front Weld RTS to match the rear with Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/R front tires.

Also swapped out the valve body that was in my 4L80 and that seems to have fixed all my trans shifting problems I was getting.

Why did it only pull to 5300 in that graph? Is it simply done at that point and too much backpressure? I would have thought the 7575 with the 1.15 A/R could have got a little more RPM on a 5.3. Maybe the cutout would help?

I'm sure Daniel can answer, but that run was an "oops" pass as the wastegate's boost controller was plumbed backwards (my bad) so Pat backed off when he saw the boost was higher than programmed and still climbing.

Ok - it didn't look like it was done there.

Was expecting to see it pull to 6500 or so pretty easily depending on the cam specs.

His has a .96 housing and looked to peak around 5350 or so and hold steady until 5800. It should rev to 6500 or so without losing much.

Finally got my trans issues sorted out! Here is what we found:

Just to update for anybody doing a search we finally figured it out. We have suspected a segment swap issue for a long time now but not being extremely knowledgeable with hptuners I wasn’t 100% convinced, but we were running out of options. I started reading and the OS From his Camaro was 936036 which it turns out GM never made a 4l80e truck with that OS so it seems to be hit or miss using a same year different OS segment swap. Luckily he owns and daily drives a 2000 Z28 that happened to be unlocked and had a different more common OS 9360361 which we easily found a matching OS. I transferred all the tune setting over after completing the segment swap and did a “write entire”. And bingo. The trans works perfect and the TCC acts as it should. Hope this can help somebody in the future.

Little update:

There was a private track rental this weekend at RPR in Baytown. Ive been fighting boost controller issues, thought it got sorted, then it showed its ugly face again. I CANNOT get the boost controller to work right. I will probably be replacing it for an AEM Truboost very soon as I'm tired of dealing with this.

First pass went like low 11's at 124 i think. I had the 17.7 springs in my wastegate and the car was holding about 14 through the run. I'm having to foot brake and the car will only hold 1-2 lbs of boost before it starts pushing the front tires.

Took it back to the pit, put 21.75 springs in it, wired up a manual switch to lock my torque converter, and added about 6 degrees of timing. Next pass went 10.8 at 129.

On the final pass of the evening we removed the Corsa, and I was able to launch the car harder netting us a 10.4 at 131 with a 1.5 60'.

We were pretty happy with that especially since its not making the boost we want but hopefully I'll get a new controller in pretty soon and we can head back out on high boost. Maybe a 9?!

Here is a video of my last run:

Been following your build man. Good times, I was expecting a little more though. But you had to work what you had. Keep up the great work!

Seems like a lot of boost for the mph. Is this still the 5.3 with the billet 7575? Full weight 93 octane?

Just to clarify from Bluestreaks post its E85 and 5.3 with 7575. It made around 15-16 psi on the 10.47 pass even though it had a spring combo that according to the wastegate instructions should have made 21+psi. But it went 131.8 on 15-16 psi with a quick spike to 17 psi for a few frames of the run. With a working boost controller and 21 psi it should go 140+ if it holds together.
