Default 6.2 F1C build

New to this procharger (Centri) blower thing. Decided on building a fun project with my 1987 Iroc-Z(starting it after Im done with the 4th gen). Decided to put this engine to use. Forged 6.2 Wiseco pistons, Callies compstar rods, forged LSA crank along with some CNC LPE LSA heads. Compression is approx 9.7:1. I will be running an F1C and it will be with a 4L80E, FTI 3200/3400 stall, moser 12 bolt 3.73s. My problem is selecting a cam. I'm into the mild quiet cams. Yet everything I hear to do with Centris has too much chop. Cams I've narrowed it down to are
231/247 .638/.624 117+4. (Worried might be a turd low end)
Tick blower stage 2 227/243 .625/.615 116+6
Or another custom cam 225/243 .612/.592 115+5

Thanks for the help.

I'll start off by saying I'm no cam expert " only play one in front of my friends".

It seems to me that all of these cams have at least 3* of overlap & all will chop to a certain degree. Here again, the +4, +5 & + 6* will initiate those valve events earlier and that ( if I'm not mistaken) will exasperate that chop even more (@ idle).
Contact Martin @ Tick directly. He will know exactly how to achieve the sleeper cam you want while retaining performance.

So catching back up with the build. I contacted Brian Tooley and got me a cam for my combo. Only now I've managed to yet changed my mind again. Doing a T56 instead of the 4L80. Options are MN6 T56 with 2.66 first gear, Viper output shaft. Or MN12 2.97 first gear with SSR 32 spline output shaft.

Anyone running the MN12 with supercharger? Heard it's not a good combo.

I would have bumped the compression to atleast 10.2:1 if it was mine. What fuel and are you gonna be running methanol? I like the last game you posted. Mine is a 224/239 on a 116. Nice broad powerband and smooth driving cam.

Look into brute speeds blower cam grind. I ran it for 4 years in my lq9/f1c setup and it idled almost like stock and had excellent street manners

Yea that's actually the cam we went with only on a 117+5. As far as fuel more than likey 91+meth. Or E85 if I have enough funds from the other builds. Ran that block on my TBSS and compression didn't seem bad at all out of boost. Made 700+ with a crappy 2.9 Whipple and stalled 4L80 with 91+meth.

What gears you running on the TR6060?

Stock 3.42's on mine. 91+meth is fine for that compression but if you decide to go E85 I'd bump it for sure. There is a guy doing a 10 something compression on his F1X/E85 C6Z build currently.

No I'm asking trans gears. Is it a base C6 which I believe come with the 2.66 or the Z51/GS 2.97 first gear.

Is the guy with F1X running a 6 bolt block?

Yeah stock 2.66 first. It's a base non Z51.

There are two of them. One is running 6 bolt and the other isn't.
